A half decent result in Pebble Beach could see Shane in the top 20, he's very close to Oosthuizen who's only ahead of him by a whisker - 0.0022 points average.

    But does it matter?

Not really but it's a nice landmark to hit all the same. A win this weekend would indeed be more desirable. He had a good result last year at Pebble when his putter wasn't nearly as hot so hoping for another strong finish.

He has been as high as 17 so the next landmark is top 10 I guess. Hard task, even a win yesterday would only have put him up to 13/14th by my crude calculations.

But a top 10 finish was good to consolidate his position in the OWGR. That result stays there now for basically 2 years, but older not as good results will drop off, so I wouldn't worry to much about him not moving up the rankings

Might be worthy of a bump for our Shane.

Just had to laugh at this. Such a distinctive accent. God only knows how many times it said the same after a shot :D

That gave me a good laugh too. I'm sure we've all said worse though.

So confused watching golf on sky! Saw Shane play the 10th at -1, stuck it to the flag for eagle yet next time we see him he's on the 11th playing from under a tree, still at -1???

He was +1 playing the 10th, eagle left him -1 but now he has bogeyed 11 to go back to level

Well he finished on 1 under par, which is a decent enough round. Same as Rory!

Shot tracker showed him getting a nice drive away on 18 (his 9th), and then criss crossing the green before eventually getting a bogey - I'd love to know what happened there. +1 for the first 9 which isn't great.

Disappointing round of +1 today. Let's hope for better tomorrow.

Kimmage is definitely an acquired taste. Tbh i dont mind him as an interviewer. Thought his Paul O Connell interview was brilliant.

His book is also a great read for any sports fan.

I thought he was to be running a pro shop within 5 years of this thread starting?

Mad - I've fancied Shane doing very well in a major at some point, but didn't see this one coming.

Shane has pulled a few and pushed a few and is 5 under, brilliant stuff.
