    Do you use a knife?
    Do you use a fork?

I use a knife though somtimes I pull the lever down and then up really fast so the toast jumps up and I try to catch it with my lighting fast Mr Miyagi type reactions.

What do you get stuck in the toaster? I mean seriously?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,582 ✭✭✭✭TheZohanS

Never, ever use a fork. Have you not heard of fork lightning?

Use a knife, stainless steel works best.

Turn it upside down and shake the shit out of it.

    srysly, that's insane.

I tried a holistic method of letting the bread see the more inherent beauty of being eaten.

Then the grill kicked the **** out of me.

Use a fork. Forks are better than knives for that. But remember to unplug the toaster first. Don't use anything plastic. It would melt.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,898 ✭✭✭✭seanybiker

throw it into a basin of water.

not if it has a toaster dust collector in the bottom, you just slide it out and empty all the toast dust!

I didnt even read that last part,
thats exactly what I do with scones, there too small to pick out, they break easily too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,243 ✭✭✭✭Jesus Wept

I <3 scones but in a toaster they will break your heart, always get stuck and break up when you try to retrieve them.

Also, the bottom half of a burger bun, I just sit it on top of the toaster rather than put it in as you probably won't get it out intact.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,150 ✭✭✭kumate_champ07

the scones with the raisins, toasted with some butter. if its just normal scones ill put some butter and jam on them

I hate when the bread is too long for the toaster and you turn it upside down and put it in a second time and forget to manually cancel a min later and it gets all burnt

Oh god, just happened to me. I made the effort of reaching down to the freezer and picking out 2 slices of bread. After a min I got excited and popped them early but they weren't done so I reset them but forgot that the toaster can't tell when toast is done so they turned black :( I ate them but they were awful

Op, if you happen to try this, get a mate to video it. If the guys who run the Darwin Awards ever start handing out cash prizes you'll be rich.

Or at least your next of kin will be.

    Elaborate.

It's what I heard. Perhaps it's the similarties in wit and taste (both love me) which lead to other people coming to that conclusion.
Why you up so ridiculously early anyway? I have no good reason why I'm up except that I needed to eat! And sing . . . 99 luft balloons!

    EDIT:I know it's not a chatroom don't patronise me

lol just please do not say you couldn't sleep because you felt AH would be a lawless zone if you slept. The other mods were asleep so you felt you should stay up. Please don't say that is the reason you are up, or the reason you've ever stayed up way later than you should

I have a fat slice toaster and it come with an ejector button incase the slices are small and cannot be reached. It can be quite funny because my up until latel my son could just reach the toaster eject so cannot reach the toaster so what he does is hammer the hell out of the eject until the toast flies towards him.

Lately he coped on to bring his chair now he still hammers the hell out of the eject just for the fun of it....

And they say he has issues.... Clever fooker!

    Knife.

But switch off the toaster at the plug before you stick it in of course.

I'll usually try move it with my finger if its a wide toaster

That doesn't work then try knock it up with the depressor thingy

    After that maybe a knife

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 445 ✭✭Jay Pentatonic

Turn it upside down, shake it while smacking the base.

Leaves a crumby mess, but works quickly!!!

A harrowing tale of domestic abuse bubbling beneath the surface of that joke I fear :pac:

brown soda bread is a bitch to toast. can be: too long, too small and cant reach, too thick or crumble up and burns easy.......but tastes so good!
usually end up with burnt fingers and then get peaved and upside approch over the sink only for it to fall and get all wet, its an art so it is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,555 ✭✭✭Gillington

I must be the luckiest guy alive I never have this problem as ,y toaster has a rack with two handles on it that I pop the toast on,close over the rack and pop it in the toaster. Then theres a thing that I can move the one of the heating sides closer to the item being toasted! yay me! think I'll do the lotto today.Or have some toast.

    Depressor?
What a depressing name for it.

    It's clearly a lever.

My brother once knocked out the electricity while trying to use a fork to get toast out of the toaster.

Fair play. I once went 12 rounds with electricity in the mid nineties but it won on points in the end. split decision. One of the judges left with a new car. Very dodgy tbh.
