IMO, this would make an excellant commercial conversion:

I've DOE'ed 2 of these and one was lifted by the customs who said that the load carrying space was too small(the boot floor is very high to allow space for the differential) the owner had to pay the back tax plus pound fees but escaped VRT fines as the car had been registered before in the country and VRT paid. Customs don't like people trying to take the piss with commercial conversions and will try everything to make sure the vehicle meets requirements for commercialising

I think your probably right,,, too many questions would put me off. If it could be done I would convert an Old S class Merc and enjoy my big engine with f all road tax.

Not quite a commercial, but ready for conversion.

Aren't those Ferrari estates owned by the Sultan of Brunei. That country was ordering loads of supercars about 20 years ago, most of them with specialised coachwork. They also received some Bentley SUVs.

Not a supercar, but a Vineyard ran this commercial....

and this must be twice the price of a Zeppelin!

Some of these might be fakes, and some aren't supercars either but there's a lot of shooting brakes around:

    Porsche 928

    Aston Martin V8 Vantage

    Ford Mustang (fake I think)

It's a Ferrari 456 GT Venice. There were a handful of them specially made for the Sultan of Brunei in the mid-90's. Chances are if you can afford one, you can afford the tax too :P

I think this sums up the idea then.

There was a Lotus Elise (i know its not a supercar) discussed here a few weeks ago that it legally taxed as a commercial due to having only 2 seats, a rear bench and blacked out windows

Many like this are driven like supercars.

    Does it qualify?

Next thing you'd come up with is a Ford Transit ST.

No, they do not qualify as supercar, as supercars not only are about engine. It's about engine, handling and a lot different other things ..... and then the Ford Transit and Transit Connect aren't precisely sexy.

I'd love to have a Clear CT/4, and yes it's a damn animal with 522 bhp Porsche Ruf 993 engine in a Volkswagen Caravelle T4, but it's not a supercar. It's a supervan, at best :) ... I'd say it's just a damn fast van, with nice stylings.

The Ford Transit Connect is plain ugly though.
