When I was younger my Dad would mow the grass a few days before the big day but leave a little square unmowed. Then on christmas morning he would pull fistfuls of the grass out and make it look like the reindeer had been eating it

It's always the simple things that work the best!

Those are the things they'll remember, forget the bikes, nintendos etc, they will always look back and think of the magical little bits affiliated with Santa! Bless their cotton socks!!

My parents used to leave a pint of Guinness, and then Santa would drink it. I remember one year, my brother examined the glass to see if Santa left any hairs from his beard on the glass!

I'm going with homemade gifts this year to keep things reasonably inexpensive. There aren't any young children in the family, so I don't feel guilty about it.
