I bought these in Dunnes yesterday, only €24, aren't they cute!?
Btw I'm a guy who just loves wearing high heels. ;)

I like :) they'd be gorgeous with black tights

    Very cute!

I also saw a lovely red suit in Penneys, a red jacket and matching over the knee skirt but was too nervous to buy it! They also had it in black. Maybe next week...

Dunnes have some really nice shoes but they never seem to fit me properly. :o

They seem to fit men better;)

Do you think they'd go well with the red Penneys suit and black tights or should I wear red shoes with a red suit?
I buy Penneys shoes sometimes, they're usually a bit ahem sluttier than Dunnes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,883 ✭✭✭shellyboo

Personally I'd go black shoes with a red suit, and those shoes would go well with matt black tights since they're patent! They're really cute, btw!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,145 ✭✭✭SarahSassy

Some nail varnish would be nice too.

Thanks for all your comments! If 10 women vote for me to buy the red suit I'll do it next weekend! Feel free to suggest makeup and hairstlye too. If you like I'll post pictures on this thread. Although no facial shots at the moment as I'm growing a Movember beard :D

I'd suggest an up do or something classic, sort of Jackie O style.

Wow the Jackie O look is very femme, love the pearls and gloves too. So that's one vote then :p

Totally! If you're gonna get dolled up, might as well do it right - can't get glammer than Jackie O! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Hahaha so the Jackie O look is popular then. Only 2 votes though so I think I'm safe enough :)
The thought of walking through Penneys with a red skirt, jacket, and black matt tights is quite nervewracking!

    Vote number 3 :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,883 ✭✭✭shellyboo

Ah, nobody will bat an eyelid heather! I was in Ann Summers the other day, place was full of men picking out underwear, I just presumed it was for their gfs... But you never know ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,765 ✭✭✭Jessibelle

If it's the red suit I'm thinking of, it'll be only fabulous with those shoes and either matt black tights or they have a finer denier one in with a wee polka dot pattern? Accesories, you could go to either Penny's or Dunnes for cheapy pearls, although Penny's do glass beads as opposed to plastic, which I think personally, have a bit of a better lustre. Or there's a fairly decent range of imitation jet jewelry doing the rounds at the moment Leather wrist gloves in black to set off the jacket and maybe one of those quilted Channel type bags?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Maybe you're right but size 8 heels, and tights probably look a bit suspicious! Anything a guy would buy which would make you suspicious that they were for him?
3 votes eh, maybe I should start to get worried :(

Wow Jessibelle you have a lot of embarrassing shopping ideas! A little pair of gloves would be cute. What colour polka dots do you have in mind and where would I get them? 4 votes...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,883 ✭✭✭shellyboo

Absolutely nothing a guy would buy would make you think it was for him, really... People's minds just don't go there!

If you were really worried though, you could spread out the purchases? Like, get tights in one Penney's, and the suit in another? And sure you already have the shoes! That way it would look even more like you were picking up something for a friend :)

Hmm, that kinda only works if you live in Dublin though...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

I live in Dublin alright. Found buying the shoes a bit of a struggle as I had to queue for ages with the heels in my hands! What about stockings and suspenders instead of tights or is that too slutty?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,729 ✭✭✭Acoshla

If you don't want people knowing they're for you you could do what my boyfriend does when I tell him to pick up embarrassingly girly things for me in Penneys :)

He said he deliberately makes himself look lost in there and either takes a little list with him or keeps looking at his phone after he picks up every item so it looks like he has a list in the phone, or alternatively you could through in a mens t shirt and socks or something so it looks like you're shopping for you and a girl.

I wouldn't worry about it though, you won't be buying anything as embarrassing as he was buying for me last time, pink and leopard print onesie and bright pink skinny jeans :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

I'm a size 8 1/2 and female so really it's not that strange.
Stockings and suspenders aren't slutty, fishnets might be ;)

Dunnes do really good strechy fishnet hold ups which can be worn with suspenders and they strech well over
legs which are more muscley, I have big calfs and feet and find they fit well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Thanks for your votes of confidence although, thankfully, still only 4 actual votes. I tried on shoes in Dunnes once and also in Ms. Selfridge. I tried to do it when nobody was looking but was seen a couple of times. Too busy to risk that last weekend!
Should I get a blouse? I was thinking white satin?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

If you are going to get a white blouse and you are any way hairy around the chest area you would be best to get a camisole to wear under it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Sinall

    Vote 5.

Lots of women have size 8+ feet. 3 of my friends do, so that wouldn't look unusual at all. Don't act like it's risky and then it won't look strange! Just act completely blasé. Alternatively get a female friend to go with you.

Don't know about the white satin blouse, but that's just my personal preference. Maybe a black top?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

A fifth vote then, I'm halfway there... I am actually quite nervous now as I was sort of joking but I guess I'd have to go through with it if I reach 10 votes.
Thaedadyl you're obviously liking the idea of looking slutty with the fishnets!
I'd love to get a female friend to go but haven't told anyone yet lol.

Sorry I meant to add my vote in my last post, so vote 6 :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Sinall

You don't have to do anything you don't want to! All in your own good time.

The great thing about stockings and suspenders etc is that you are usually the only one who knows that you have them on. Nothing overly visible about stockings and suspenders if the skirt isn't tight, or quite figure hugging.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,883 ✭✭✭shellyboo

+1 on the Dunnes fishnets! They're good and stretchy but not expensive, so it's no big deal if you rip them :o

note to self: go to Dunnes and buy fishnets :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

    Wow 6 votes...
No I'll do it alright. My list so far is red suit jkt and skirt, black opaque tights, blk polka dot pattern tights, fishnets and garter belt, black gloves, handbag, camisole, white blouse, blk top, jewellery. What else would a guy buy on a weekend!
I'd love to get the courage to wear it all out in public. ~Maybe someday :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Sinall

What about hair Heather? Sleek and classic is the way to go I think with that outfit. Classic, elegant make up as well I'd say.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,729 ✭✭✭Acoshla

Aw, if I lived in Dublin I would totally love to go to Penneys and Dunnes with you, I'm always looking for shopping buddies who can put up with me trawling through the fabulousness that is Penneys :o

Wow Sinall you seem to be enjoying playing dress-up with a life size barbie!
Maybe a long blk wig, I could get a red hairband too maybe?
You want me in full makeup then!?

Ha ha! It sounds like you might be a lot better at styling outfits etc than I am!

Red hairband might be a bit too much IMO but other, more stylish individuals might disagree. Re: makeup, I suppose you may as well finish the look off!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Thanks Spadina, maybe I'll find a girl to go shopping with sometime lol
Maybe I will finish the look off but I'm still on 6 votes so maybe I won't have to!

There are at least 3 nights out I can think of that welcome TGirls in Dublin every month, so if you wanted to dress and go out there is the option.

My local Dunnes had a sale on a while back and the fish net hold ups dropped to the daft price of 3 euro a pair, so I stocked up.

heathersissy79 is it permission you are looking for with your 10 votes or acceptance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Thanks Thaedayl, yeah there are nights out but I'm still very nervous. Also I'm more of a crossdresser than a t-girl, I'm a straight guy 99% of the time.
Permission more than acceptance, a motivation to go out shopping, and also just for the laugh to see if 10 women want to see me dressed as a girl...

There are cross dressers who are mostly hetro who attend nimhneach, which has changing fallicties and usually a very supportive community who'll help each other out with getting dressed.

I think most women would like for a man to experience the difference in movement and mindset and the ammount of effort and practive it takes to dress up in skirt, stockings, heels and make up. It tends to be an education.

And while some women have no issues shopping or going out with a friend who cross dresses dating them is often another kettle of fish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Yeah I might go to Nimhneach in December if I build up the courage.
I half=tempted to tell my 2 female flatmates but suspect they wouldn't want a guy in heels wandering around the place (even if I did offer to do all the housework if I was dressed lol).

They're lovely :) would look so good with skinnies or tights, they seem pretty versatile to me. Very good buy imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 117 ✭✭heathersissy79

Thanks Jenny. Right on 6 votes I'm going to sleep. I wonder will I reach 10 by Friday. Thanks for all your comments, I'll check back tomorrow. :P

Not at all, sure my sisters 5'11 and a size nine, gets shoes in Penny's and Dunnes all the time. And having worked as a cashier in various shops, really you pay little or no heed to what the customer's buying, just beep it through. Just with the tights, make certain you check the leg lenght on the back, for some reason some brands think your waist size automatically corresponds to being a giant/midget...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,443 ✭✭✭ams

    Another vote from me!

Definately go for it - no one will look twice at you in Penneys.
