I would get onto the eircom guys at Twitter (@eircom) and show them that speed test and they should help you. Don't bother with phone support.

Asked Eircom if I could get faster upload, they said that I would have to come off NGB and go to a business package just for faster speeds. Kinda BS if you ask me!

Can anyone tell me, when doing the speedtest on speedtest.org which server should you pick? I just tested it there on the three servers in Dublin (eircom, digiweb & vodaphone I think they are) they all give different results.
When I check the server in Galway (airwire) it gives the worst results.......I'm in Galway. I've just switched to UPC.

Upgraded to 100mb with UPC today, seemed rude not to at only €5 extra a month :)

Might do some tinkering to see if I can get the wifi speed up a bit, but so far so good.

I am fed up at this stage of trying to get top-ups to O2's monthly 15GB package,so was looking at 3's 60GB package.
Anyone around the area of Colehill/Abbeyshrule in Longford use 3 Broadband? Their map shows indoor use for my location

Speeds for O2 mobile Broadband are fine here for streaming

Regional Broadband is my company and I'm in Ferns Co. Wexford their 4 Mbps package at 40€ a month. Only slower than 98% of Irelands broadband and after 6 weeks of complaining almost daily still nothing is done about this, some joke.

    Carnsore Broadband, Wexford.

What package is that with them? I'm hearing good things about them but don't know if they can provide service in my area (Barntown)
I'm just waiting for a reply from them at the moment.

I'm devastated by how slow mine is!

    Eircom ADSL Dundalk:

Did see 1.70 Mb/s earlier tonight.

I've left Ant and Baz a tweet on the subject as it has been noticeably worse recently.

Might look at alternatives like sat broadband.

Taken at 9.35am on a Sunday:

This would suggest congestion is a big issue on the line?

I'm a bit further west from galway. No hope of ever getting it.

1mbps download speed for 40 euro a month is the best around here.

UPC 25Mb fiber broadband with home phone €40. Very impressed with the download speeds after been stuck with eircom and smart telecom DSL. When connected to fast severs that give me my full bandwidth like steam or EA Origin game updates some 3.2GB in size take no time at all. But the service has gone down twice in the last 4 months durning late night gaming sessions

    Interesting differential between my phone:
    screenshot_2012-02-10_0149_1-1.jpg

    And my tab:
    capture_05.jpg

I do recall my tab using a technology called 'wi-fi bonding', to help increase speeds apparently, I wonder if this explains the few mb's differential. Either way I'm happy, it's a 25mb connection and am testing from upstairs! happy out!
