Your Favourite Smells

Kind of a weird topic, but...

This can be anything; perfume/cologne, food, flowers, seasons, etc.

So what are some of your favourite smells? What memories are tied to your favourite scents?

I love the sweet grassy smell of horse's breath, the smell of hay and leather. I like the smell of the heat off the hay that's just been cut. Always brings back the best memories of my life that I spent out at the barn or out riding, the only time I was really happy.

I miss the smell of late August and early September back home in Canada, where I used to live beside a vineyard and the grapes would just be turning ripe, the smell was unbelievable.

I like the smell of jasmine, it reminds me of when I was a child walking down the back alleys in California with my mother and wild jasmine would be growing along the walls, the smell was strongest around sunset and dusk.

The thick smell of the heat of a good, hot Canadian summer (35+) and the crisp, clean smell of cold from a dark, deep winter always bring back pleasant memories. The smell of the fireplace during the winter and bonfires during the summer.. bliss!

So what smells hit you with nostalgia, and why?

The smell of freshly cut grass. It brings back great childhood memories of spending the summer days outdoors.

I love the smell you get outdoors on a cold autumn/winter morning. Then you get such beautiful scenery when the sun is just rising, the sky is cloudless and the leaves on the trees are gold, brown and green in colour. You just can't beat it.

Coffee roasting. It reminds me of childhood. Bewleys used to have a big coffee roaster thingy rotating in their window and you could smell the coffee a long way away.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I love the smell of my car. Every single time I get into it, I smile. I always go for a drive when I'm upset or angry and I think it's the smell that makes me feel better. I'm really proud 'cause it still smells like a new car after 50,000km and almost three years! :)

I like the smell of freshly washed sheets. There is nothing nicer than having a shower and then getting into a bed with crisp, just been washed sheets. It's the smell of clean comfort!

I love the smell of boy hoodies :) Like, when you're cold so a guy lends you what he is wearing. You put it over your head and the smell is all mmm. Better when the hoody belongs to a guy you like!

I like the smell of cold and the smell of really cold water.

I love when you've been away for a while and you get home, get off the plane and you smell Ireland again!

Many more, I'm sure. Might edit later!
