It's not our fault drugs are illegal and the only way to aquire them is by funding organised crime. If they were legal, it would be victimless.
Child porn makes the child a victim, legal or illegal. Hardly the same thing.

Cry me a river why don't you. You come up with whatever lame excuse you want to justify funding organized crime and all that it entails. The fact is it's not legal! But because drugs are socially acceptable we can all sweep the bad stuff under the carpet and pretend it's not there.

Sorry, no. If people think someone who looks at child porn should be punished the same as someone who actually abuses children, then it's hypocritical not to apply that same rationale to someone who buys illegal drugs.

For the people who want to read it.

Castrate him I say, then he won't have sexual attraction and therefore no threat. Maybe a prison term of 10 years too.

I agree.. why isn’t chemical castration a real option for these people?

The material facts of a case like this are horrendous enough.... considering the victims who will never see justice from enduring a childhood of sexual abuse because people like this will pay for these pictures and videos is without question the most despicable thing.

Seriously, why isin't more being done?

So do you think someone who buys illegal drugs should be given a prison sentence then?

Yes, if that is the correct punishment for the crime. If you do something illegal regardless of how YOU feel about it then you will have to be punished if caught.
As for your question should someone downloading pictures get the same sentence as someone who abuses children, I would say they are both guity of an illegal act and should be punished accordingly. But I do think that looking at pictures of children for sexual pleasure is abuse of the children even if it is not physical.
