    The rice burner alternative to the Mk II Escort ;)

    Here's one in a similiar vein, that was almost as universal a few years back.

    This one's pretty shagged tho;

    I beg to differ on the Abarth, the regular 500 will sell well, but you won't see too many of the Abbies.

    No, if it's going to be a VW diesel it has to be a 1.9 TDI cos it eats Porsches and Ferraris for breakfast, or a V10 TDI like in the VW Phaetus.

    Hate to be thread spoiling, but I don't like the thread title. I don't like cars being put away - being mothballed. A car is only deserving of being a classic when it has been in use all its life until the time comes it is deemed to be a classic imho. Fair enough to keep a rust-prone, delicate car in a garage and only drive it in fair weather, but mothballing is a big no-no to me :(

    Here is my list.

    Ford puma racing. Only 500 ever made and rare enough to be sought after
    Ford Focus RS. Again limited numbers made and a good few scrapped or crashed
    Ford Escort,Sierra,Sapphire Cosworths.

    And cars i already have for future restoration
    1990 Subaru Legacy RS , The car that really kicked off Subarus rally heritage and rare in RS guise :)
    1992 Subaru Legacy Turbo estate, ex prodrive chase car has very interesting owners record.
    1998 Peugeot 306 GTI6.

    And finally my ex works Ford Ka rallycar. One of only five cars built and run by Ford for Ford Ka challenge. Only 3 known to still in existance.

    Have to be a MK1 MR2, getting so rare to see a un-abused example around.

    I've got a '95 Pug 306 in a dry shed in Donegal, hoping it somehow becomes a classic in the future.... think I'm wasting my time though!
