Value of DVD collection?...

    Hey all,

Was thinking of flogging my DVDs recently. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how much they'd be worth at all?

I know DVDs are pretty much worthless these days, so dunno if I'd bother or not, but thought I'd just throw this up here and ask away incase anyone would have any idea. No harm in asking.

Too lazy to actually write a list, so here's a photo (view it full size and you can read the names)

They're all in pretty good condition. I suppose a few would be scuffed here and there at the edges from general wear and tear, but nothing too devastating. I try to take care of my stuff.

Cheers to anyone able to offer any help here :)

You'd get a lot more selling them individually but that's a TON more hassle. Throwing out a ballpark, 150 euros?

I love DVDs now more than ever. For example, I bought Apocalypse Now for 5 euro in HMV! What a deal! What a movie!

    OT I know.

I'd reccomend Ebay over anywhere else. List them individual and price them high with a Make Offer option. You'll always get people looking for each movie.

I had five copies of Quantam Of Solaice on BluRay that I won and Cash Converters offered me €1 each (they sell DVDs for €3 each there - good place for DVD bargains actually - downstairs in Moore St Mall).

Anyway, got €14 each for them on Ebay so it might be worthwhile sticking them up. You could sell them all together but you your price wouldn't be great as people will be buying to keep what they like and sell on what they don't.

    Cheers for the advice guys.

Nico; I wouldn't go the eBay route because of the hassle involved. Really don't want to be posting stuff out to people every second day. I'd rather a quick, effortless all-in-one-go ridding of them.

I may stick them up on adverts later on, see if anyone in my area wants them. I wouldn't post them, obviously (i'd spend more money posting them than they'd be worth).

Fair enough, PM me if you put them up. I may have a peek .. :)

Was Kingpin really so good that you needed to buy it twice? :)

So funny that I had to watch it twice at the same time, with a 30 second delay on the second TV, to make sure I don't miss a joke!

I actually don't know why I have it twice. Didn't think it was that good, to be honest (though I know some people who think it's great).

Ebay is pointless unless you have rare DVDs otherwise yer best bet would be to find a car boot sale and sell them for a fiver each,5 for 20 quid etc.Adverts is only good if you are willing to almost give them away.

From what i see you wouldnt give most of them away. Dr. Doolittle, Mrs. Doubtfire, Look Whos talking, American Pie Boxset, Spy hard.
I'd give you a tenner for the Fr. Ted boxset, as for the rest, I wouldnt expect much.

Most of the brand new DVD's are €4-6 in HMV, why would anyone pay €5 for a used one? OP, I think don't think it's worth it considering all the money you spent on them in the first place. It reminds me of when my mate was trading in about 7-8 PS2 games a couple of years ago. They were offering him €2 for game's that cost €60 a year before. Unless they're seriously in the way I'd hang on to them.

Was thinking of clearing out my DVD collection but at the prices being thrown around here i think i'll just hold onto them.

Out of curiosity could anyone estimate a valuation of them. There are about 700 - 720. Ranging from old, new, western, action, kids, boxsets, collectables, etc.

dang that's a really fuzzy picture. Can't make out a lot of the names. Any chance of re-shooting the picture, putting the camera on a chair or table or something to eliminate shake?

Seperate photos of each shelving unit. Hope this is better.
