So it looks like the GB Mortal Kombat cart I picked up is definitely a Review Cart!
And I also got in the haul an empty shell that seems to have been used to put Review boards into..and I got two of them too!

    Large pics ahoy Cap'n

Loaded up a Rom of both Mortal Kombat and Balloon Kid on the Xperia Play, and played a few minutes of both with the carts playing simultaneously on the GB, and there are no noticable differences.

Edit - @ SteveSI, how much did the MVS cost ya? Have one myself with a bunch of game carts, considering selling it on.

It was just under 90 euro from starcab with whatever bios you like(unibios all the way :D )

Make sure to stick a link up on the forum if you decide to sell the game carts as I'd be interested if the price was right.

The fightpads? I found them horrible to use. I got one to play street fighter and was so disgusted with how poor they were I bought myself a fightstick 2 hours later.

    for 3 euro a go I couldn't leave them behind ;)

I just found the d-pads horrible on them. For a pad made for street fighter they're god awful for fighting games.

Type load, press play on tape, wait 45 mins, have an epileptic fit & then repeat when it fails.

We've revealed Atavan is no longer the youngest. He'll be deeply scarred by this. This thread has been a monumental success in that respect :p

Or, alternatively, its c120, so you fast forward to where the desired game is supposed to reside, press play, hope for the best.
Realise it was done on your mates twin deck and so you have to get the little screwdriver out and fiddle with the head levels, then try again, and again before your dodgy copy of Atic Attack finally loads.

Heck, getting some crappy old cassette to work was half the fun, I spent more time getting games to work than I did playing them!
I spent a whole morning just trying to get, an excellent version as it turned out, Galaxians to load onto the Speccy.

    Good times!

I remember the evolution of the loading screen, from the standard Manic Miner fare to the more interesting Starstrike 2 with its flickering engine flare and then the most excellent animated Technician Ted loading screen, how easily impressed we were!
In fact spectrum art was quite interesting, given the limitations of the machine,

    HAHAHAHA!
About bloody time you shower started to feel the weight of time upon this earth start to lean on your shoulders.
Next, greying hair, receeding fringe, a desire to tell younger folk your personal bigoted notions, imagining yourself as some sort of seer, keeper of secrets.
And no, your never going to fit into those pants again, keep eating the pies and get over it!

    Bigger videocassettes for games?
What on earth are you talking about?
    PC Diskettes?
    Megadrive/Snes carts?
    Maybe even NeoGeo MVS carts?

    What madness is this?

You know you are getting old now when a retro gamers first machine was a 360, DS or worse again, a V-Tech Smile!
