Well done on the results. If you're worried about only specialising in one thing that doesn't work out the CDM course is broad enough that you'd still be able to do a couple things besides film. It's your decision though

I got my results this morning, 7 distinctions and 1 merit, so thats 385:) i have this as my first choice at level 8 and film in dundalk at level 7, i dont know which to choose, i want to study film but i feel id be better to have a media degree so if film didn work out then id have something to fall back on:)

If it was me, and it's not....but if it was, I'd go with IT Tallaght

I'm not going to act as an ad for the Education board in ITT but I will say this, it's a great course....with a lot of really good lecturers, when I was there they were invaluable and really taught me what they knew....there were lecturers who were passionate about what they studied and that makes all the difference. ITT FM for example was a great launching platform for people who had previously never got the chance to work in radio and I know there was a Photography Society for nurturing your talent in this area too

You get a Qualification you can use and a broad spectrum of things to have a crack at - Media Studies, Graphic Design, Journalism, Politics, Scriptwriting, AV Tech, Photography, Radio, Television...the list is basically endless...

And long term, a Degree next to a Film Studies course which probably only offers a basic Certificate? No, you're better off going to ITT

Just to be absolutely certain, the points for this course are 300-400, so if you have 295 points that means you basically don't stand a chance?

    I'm afraid so Rest_Energy

But it also depends on how many people actually applied, then out of that number, how many accepted a place they were offered

There's an Open evening on at the start of Sept. if ye dont get an offer in round one [Aug 24th AFAIK] drop in and chat to them, see whats up
