Yes you can enter with a semi auto. There has been debate after debate as to the pros and cons, likes and dislikes etc etc of semi autos in clay pigeon shooting but honestly apart from down the line where you would be shooting in a line of 5 most other traps are sporting meaning its you in a wooden frame shooting on your own with nobody to complain about flying shells. You probably will get a "look" or two but ignore them.

Follow all safety rules and range instructions, use 2 rounds at a time and you'll be fine.

I was at a DTL shoot in Kerry last month and there was alot of lads shooting semi's.

As other have said don't load more then 2 shells at a time and try not to hit anyone with the ejecting shells.

Not if you hit him in the eye.:D

I know everyone should have safety glass on, but have you ever see 100% of shooter with glass on.

Both eyes at a same time? :D

Then if you want to walk around the range with your gun you have to open the bolt and stuff a handkerchief into the receiver and hold it above your head and shout "it's empty!" it's empty!"...:D:D:D:D:D:D

haha, at least that was the impression I got last time I mentioned about semi at clay shoot...:D:D:D:D:D:D

You can't get both eyes at the same time. First you get there left eye, then just as they turn there head with there hand over that eye too give out you take your second shot and nail the right eye.

You need a lot practice for that:D

Maybe easier with a pump shotgun as you can deliberately aim the cartridge at some one's eyes.

You just have to ask the man next to you to take his shooting glasses off.
