A bita posi contrast with the other thread is needed, I feel!

I can't really think of anything for myself at the moment but a couple years ago, my musical idol - my all around favourite musician in the world ever - Frank Turner, told me that he really likes my band. That was pretty awesome. :D

Also, a girl said some really nice things to me this week but it's all kinda cheesey so I'll spare yis!

Words can't describe how hearing that from the person you are falling for makes you feel

Thanks! I'm no lady either. As in, I'm not female. Not just like "don't call me lady". Hah! :)

Again, not a burd but "I think we've a connection" says she to me one-time. So I hung-up!
Bada-bing....I shout be on stage with gags like tha!

Or the "you're not as fat as people say you are" or "you're not as ugly in the dark!".
    Okay gonna stop now!

"Mini bai, you are the coolest, it's so easy to talk to you like"

Direct quote from a friend of mine, one of the only people who never talks bad of me so that's a plus:D Other than that, I am a complete bastard in my real life so very few people say nice things about me.

    Sweet thread :)

Recently, my parents said ''We are so so proud of you, look at everything you have done with your life in the 24 years you've been alive, most people wouldnt have accomplished it in their whole lifetime. Keep trucking girl, you're doing an amazing job!''

Brought a tear to my eye.... bless our mammies!!!

I think so much more of people doing nice things for you.
Even just making you a cup of tea. These things make me happy.

Everyday my family tells me that they love me. I often get ribbed mercilessly by people who over hear us. But I think it something very valuable. To know that the people in your life appreciate how you feel about them.

    No puking please....but....

    "Of course I will baby"

when I asked her to marry me. :) Apart from the obvious relief that this bestowed on me, I thought it was a lovely response. It sounded really natural at the time too. Lovely.

Also, two ladies on here said something very nice to me in-thread before. :) I still get the occasional smile out of it when I think of it. :) You know who you are. Thanks!

I'm not a lady so I shouldn't be in here but.......... my Mum was told she had 3 weeks to live (back in 2004), she had been diagnosed with cancer the year before and was on caemo and whatnot. After a day or so she said to me and my sister that we were great children (I was 23 at the time, my sister was 25) and that she was going to miss us. Looking back on it it's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. Am nearly in tears thinking about it (not good as I'm at work :o).

I don't think my fiance would be posting on this thread with my response when he asked me ...

Him: Lovely, well-thought-out, sweet, romantic and meaningful proposal.

    Me: "Ya what now???!!!"

Can't think what the nicest thing anyone ever said to me was. Don't get me wrong - people do say nice things to me sometimes!! I just can't think of anything specific off the top of my head. That's kind of sad isn't it :(

My boyfriend always says los of nice things to me. But one of the nicest things i think, was when he told me I'm his best friend.

One day in school, a girl i'd never spoken to told me i had really beautiful eyes and although she'd have to use her boobs to convince a guy to do something, i could use my eyes... =/

I've been told that I'm the funniest girl my friend knows.

Have a couple cute things from boyfriends etc but this time was the nicest one I got in ages and when I really needed it....

I had a cold a while ago and was hanging around with one of my guy mates feeling like crap in baggy clothes and no make up. He turned around and said " This is the first time I have saw you without make up, your a fool! you're the most beautiful today than I ever saw you".

Made me feel so lovely because he is the type of guy to tell you your a wreck. :)

This might sound abit odd,but I still think it was really sweet.
I'm 22 and myself and the boyf were watching prime time when I commented on how well Miriam looks for her age,and how she comes across as very intelligent and classy.
I said I wouldn't mind looking that well when I'm her age.
My boyf cuddled me and said that nomatter what age I was, I would always look well, and be smarter than and alot classier than Miriam or any other woman he knew of.
I don't agree with him in the slightest, but it actually made me blush and my heart melt.
Just thought it was such a loving thing to say.

(Although he did have a few drinks taken,so how much he meant it I'm not sure.) :-)

I absolutely agree. You never know how little time your loved ones might be with you so every day should count.

I don't count the things exes have said to me, because they're all exes for a reason. My little sis did tell me once that she'd never have survived her five month rehab stint in the NRH (learning to walk again) without me. That felt good.

Oh christ my current boyfriend says so much nice things that I couldnt even put them all down here.

Heres the least personal one anyways

"I realised tonight you are the love of my life. I couldnt be without you. Being with you is better than not being with you. Love you xxx"

One of his many amazing texts.

He's a never ending compliment machine!

As per Thaedydal's comment, said to me in unision by my kids 'we love youuuuu!' :)

Separately, said with real tenderness by someone at a low moment in my life. 'I give a sh!t about you'. Reads badly though. You had to be there. :)

'sometimes i hate you so much because i love you so much you make my brain go crazy in a good crazy way..... you know when you have a big pub lunch and for the rest of the day you feel like your belly is gonna explode... thats how my heart feels for you 24/7'

alas was said after a few drinks but was nice all the same

Can't actually think of anything but the most recent thing that springs to mind:
I was teaching my first No Drama workshop the other night. At 9:30 on the nose when I should have been finishing the class, but I snuck in one last performance. I got a text from a friend asking how it went. Told them how it went and said thanks for asking and thanks for thinking of me. They said "of course I was thinking of you". That made me gush :o

    Last but not least!
He was blessed to have a friend like you, Neil.
You're one of the warmest, kindest people I've ever met and I'm constantly amazed by your positivity, even though you've been through so much. You're an inspiration and I have so much respect for you.
    Kudos :)

One of the nicest things someone's said to me was a conversation I had with my grandfather, in his last hours.
He told me he was proud of me and I was a great grand-daughter. I always think of that conversation when I'm feeling low, or missing him. He was amazing!

Ah, damn it! You just made me cry!
I am very, very close to my grandad and thankfully, he's still alive. He said to me once, "Everyone says that you have me wrapped around your little finger, but I think I might be wrapped around yours too because you're so good to me. I'm very lucky".

I visit him every week and bring him a treat. He likes Aero's, Caramello and custard and ice cream! He tells everyone what I bring him then so I guess it really makes his day. :) He is the most amazing person ever and whenever I'm sad or need someone to talk to, his house is the first place I go. I have a treasure chest full of nice things he's said so he's not the only lucky one.

    He just rang me!!!!

the nicest thing my bf ever said werent his words but it was amazingly cute all the same.

i was really upset after a night out because i had a fight with a friend and my bf brought me to his house, took off my shoes lay me on the bed, washed my mascara covered face and played 'shes got a way' by Billy Joel, while stroking my hair and cuddling me.

Hes a real mans man so when he did this it was such a shock but the nicest thing ever. I always smile when i think about it, if we eer get married i want that to be our first dance because thats the night i knew i wanted to be with him forever.
