I could happily watch a full length movie if it were made in the Dawn of War 1/2 Starcraft/Warcraft 3 league.

They just put so much into the cutscenes, exceptional stuff

I loved the Half Life cutscenes, especially That monorail trip at the start, none of the subsequent HL2 games were as impressive, for me anyways.
The highpoint though overall was Uncharted on the PS3, very very good, more Indy than Indy, watching the making of docs on the disk shows the voice actors also doing the cut scene motion capture, so the performance is all cohesive, brilliant.
It's one of the reasons I'll be buying the next one!

I am shocked to not see any mention of the classical Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun cutscenes. Bear in mind, this game was made over ten years ago!

Also, a more recent intro that is without a doubt nothing short of awesome. Furthermore, it is a perfect example of how the Star Wars prequels should have been made...

Over on the retro games forum I was reminded of the great cut scenes in Fantavision, a launch game on the PS2, they were great, I believe, providing excellent chillout moments during an otherwise intense gaming experience.

'twas at the beginning of the PSOne lifecycle and the trend of pre-rendered CGI FMV.Doesn't hold up as well as I remembered, but not bad and a very Aliens vibe going.

Also, the cutscenes in MGS4, oh wait, that wasn't a cutscene? That was the entire game!
Wow, I wonder if anyone else noticed?
I actually fell asleep during Raidens big boss fight and woke up to find I had won!

Burning Soldier on the 3DO was fun, but as above the game was an onrails shooter with the backgrounds FMV so it probably doesn't count.

But, seeing as I have brought up the 3DO, it was host to a number of innovative cutscene owning game thingys,

Return Fire, this one has some great use of FMV for victory and defeat events, also a wonderful taste in ingame music,

But my fave has to be the cutscenes in the two big EA franchises on the 3DO, The Need For Speed and Road Rash, absolutely brilliant,
In The Need For Speed you get a guy giving you grief for being either awesome or crap, the crap scenes are particularly good, "The sucking sound is all the girls going over to the fast car"
In Road Rash, you get winner/loser movies that reflect you getting dragged about, or hauling off a biker babe on the back of the bike, amongst others.
