When I lose my memory around 150. When I keep my memory it's about half that.

If I'm in town, I'll easily spend €100-130 but my local is €3 a drink on Saturday so if I'm there I might get away with €50.

I used to spend nearly 150, but it's stupid. Now I drink at home and go to the pub later, last bus into town. Can get away with 50, maybe a little more with food. It's stupid money buying pints for over 5 euro a pop when you can get a few cans at home first. Can spend my money on stuff I'll actually remember while having essentially the same experience while out.

by my calculations that would be at least 1000 euro!?!

30-40 at the very most. Usually get a few cans, which is 8-12, depending on my mood. Then maybe 20 when I go out. If I'm generous, I buy gifts of drinks for other people. I can't understand why or how people spend 100 quid on a night out...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,150 ✭✭✭kumate_champ07

bottle of tesco whiskey 11euro, 1pint 4euro. max spend of 15euro.

sometimes I wont have the whiskey and just have the 1 drink.
watched tv with mates on saturday, went out on thursday got 2 free pints and payed for 1.

Last time I was out in Dublin city on a Sat night (3 weekends ago) I spent:

    €20 in the pub (4 Pints @ €5 each)
    €10 into nightlclub
    €18 on drinks (3 Pints @ €6 each)
€4 for a sandwich on the way home
    €10 for taxi

So €62 in total on the night out. That would be about the average I would spend. If I dont go to a club it would be around €45-€50.

    Pfft.

    In Strabane last week.

    Taxi to pub - £3.00
    8 Pints - £20.00
    Taxi home - £3.00

    Total - £26.00

    Sweet.

The price of Drink here is ridiculous!!

I bring my drink in my bag!! :D Along with sooooooooooo many other people!!

€20-€25 on a bottle of Vodka or whatever..

Water bottle filled, in the bag and away I go!! Just pay for minerals. So I could get away with about €40 incl club and taxi home. Usually end up coming home with some left over drink to!!

Was in a pub a few weeks ago and most of the company I was in had theirs in their bag... The bar staff even commented and told us we were dead right.... sweet :)

What's with all the taxis? Don't people use the Nitelink anymore? It's only 5 euro. People on here spend a ridiculous amount of money on a night out methinks.

On a standard Saturday drinking session:

    Bus into town: €1.60
    Admission to club: €5.00 - €12.00
    Cloakroom: €2.00
    Drink: €???
Money given to random vagrants: €10.00
Filthy kebab that stays down for 10 minutes: €8.00
Taxi home: €20.00 + stupid tip

    Total damage: €100-200

If I go to a dance gig:

    Bus into town: €1.60
    Pre-club pints: €8.00 for 2
    Ticket/admission to club: €10.00 - €20
    Cloakroom: €2.00
    Pills: ~€15-€25 for 5
    Tapwater: €0.00
    Food: Haha, good one.
Taxi home: €20.00 (less since we leave together and split it evenly)

    Total damage: €50-€75

So I don't go to town anymore unless there's something good on.

    Between 20-40 usually.Sometimes less

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,091 ✭✭✭dearg lady

Yeah, mad money! I get bus in nitelink home, few drinks at home before, don't usually get food when I'm out boozin anymore, used to always, don't be hungry after night s out these days, or maybe just too tired!
Can vary but would generally spend around 20-30, and I have had a good few nights out for a tenner!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 458 ✭✭I_am_Jebus

    Typically, €120 on alcohol

and another €30 on buses, niteclub entrance and some food.

    Total €150...

There have been evenings I would spend up to €200 but thankfully not so often any more.

If Nitelink want to operate in Donegal and Tyrone, I'll use their service.

€55-60 would be the minimum, always including €5 nitelink. It can reach €100 if I'm getting ready in a friend's house and getting a taxi to there from town and then back again staying over...the €100 would then include a rip-off Charlies or burger and chips and coke..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,931 ✭✭✭Prof.Badass

Drinks (1/3rd of a 700ml bottle of tesco vodka)- €5
Club (if i'm going to one) €10.
    Nitelink- €5.

Even if i had a job i can't imagine spending much more than this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,171 ✭✭✭Neamhshuntasach

I bought 6 cans on Saturday and had some vodka left from last week. So that was 7 euro at that stage. Only ended up leaving the house at 12:15 and got a lift into McGowans in Phibsboro. 7 euro entrance fee and then to my utter dismay, 5.60 for a pint. I ended up being out for 2 hours in the place and it cost me around 55 euro for the night including a taxi home split with 3 others. Who do they think they are charging that much for a pint? Pure rip off.

Usually i'd walk into town (not Dublin!), 4/5 pints of guinness or whatevers cheap, and split a taxi home, under €40 anyway. Much prefer having a few cans with mates at home, much cheaper. 6 cans of druids for €8 then crash on their sofa and walk home in the morning, job done!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,916 ✭✭✭RonMexico

    €0

I haven't been out on the tear since early June. Most of my friends have emigrated or moved away to other parts of the country. The ones that are still here are usually broke.

It is just depressing trying to organise a night out now. I just buy a few cans from Tesco and sit at home watching TV counting down the days until I can leave this awful dump of a country for good.

normally spend 100 on a night on the town.

havent gone out lately. invite some friends over with a few cans and you can get away with 20 for the night with food and have a better time than a night in a pub/ngihtclub!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,461 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

I dotn think i have ever spent more then €120 on night out. I have had some heavy ones but normally night out for me is about €80-90 and that includes taxi home which is about 7-8 quid.

Was in good old coppers on friday night first time been there on friday in ages my mates were out since 12 that day and they said they spent 220 quid roughly each.. thats crazy but not surprising

I used to love the nitelink. There was always some great fun on it and it dropped me close to home.

Then I got stabbed one night.

    I use taxi's now..

    Night out in town.. 100-200
Session at a house 40-50 with smokes and morgans.

I'd spend about €40, never any more than €60 though.

I once spent about €100 on a very long night out in expensive places, never again, what a waste of money.

I know a few guys who spend €100 on an average Saturday night and up to €250 if it's a "special occasion", madness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,258 ✭✭✭✭Rabies

    Anything from $100 to $300 a night.

    Depends on where I'm drinking.

Anything from €50 to €200 depending on how nuts I go...
Before I used to spend about €300+ every Sat night but after a few months I calmed down :D
Now I barely ever drink and I might only go out about once every 2 months I'd say and maybe spend about €200..all depends if I go on shorts..if not..maybe about €100 at the very max.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,738 ✭✭✭Naos

Care to give a breakdown on what you spent €300 on?

    I'd say I'm around the €80 mark - I hate my laser card :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,762 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

    Bus out - 0
    Drink - 7 or 8 .5L bottles at about €3 each
    Kebab - €2.50
    Bus home - 0

(Night bus services are covered on the monthy trasnport ticket :D)

So about 25€. Went a bit overboard, I know...

To all those people who spent more than €100 on a night out, one question: Did you get your money's worth?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

if its a night in town its always around 120-150, an odd one has pushed 200 but that might include a meal.

a night in the local bout 50quid.

    About 12 bottles of Corona-- 12x€5 = €60
    Entrance to nightclub- €15
    Double Gin + Red Bull x 5 = €110
    Rounds of Sambuca's/shots = €60
    Taxi: €50

You can see why I basically gave up drinking :D
Such a waste...grand I had some great nights out and I wouldn't change them ever but there comes a time when you need to cop onto yourself :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,404 ✭✭✭qwertplaywert

    Hmm

Pack of Cigs for the night = 8.50
Cans before pub/club= 10 [ round or about on average]
Admission=5/10 if going to club, 0 for pub
Drink=About 50 in pub, less in club due to 3 euro drinks most places in Dundalk these days
    Taxi home=25 quid

    You do the math Samuels

I'd get a taxi cause i'm never alone. Nearly always 4 of us heading to the same area. It's cheaper to split the taxi 4 ways than to spend a fiver each on the nitelink. Also the nitelink to where i live takes almost an hour and still leaves me with over a 10 minute walk. Maybe it's something similar with most people.

These days i'll never spend over 60 on a night out. I make it a point not to. Drinking in the house first is standard practice now.

I spend nothing, I'm on the dole and really can't afford to do anything that requires money. So on a Saturday night I'm normally at home drinking water watching a film on the internet. (Sometimes I might splash out and get a tub of ben & jerry's or if I'm too lazy to cook a takeaway)
