Keep saying it, you won't change my mind buddy.

I stopped there :) Promods are the most vanilla of all games, same crap for every single player. It's boring and old. Each perk requires a different skill to be able to use it effectively. It's not all about number of kills either, you only have to look at the number of deaths and the kill:death ratio to get a real idea of the skill of the player. This is why promod is sooo boring.
Disagree 100%. AFAIC there is absolutely no skill require to use these (hateful) perks (Promod FTW!).

But if that's your opinion, I respect it!

At the end of the day it's a game and games are there to be fun! ;)

When I said vanilla I meant the "original unmodied game version" of the word. It had nothing to do with boring and bland or whatever way you may have taking it.

And tbh I dont think any perks require any skill to use effectively there all common sense on how to use and there is no real way to get better at using perks. Just look at the descriptions nearly all are obviously catered for players looking for either easy kills, an easy big kill count, players who cant aim with a normal gun and require other methods to kill or a get out of jail free card perk. Dont get me wrong I love vanilla CoD, though some perks and other mechanics the game could definetily do without, the perks however noob friendly they are are still fine for a casual game every now and again and the gamers out there that prefer that sort of thing. But when it comes down to the argument of how jumping in the game is unfair and it makes it harder to hit people its not casual anymore, now there thinking competitively. Perks do nothing but make one side have the advantage from the beginning and make it unbalanced. To really see who is the better player the two players must start off the same on equal terms as seen in many if not all big competitive games these days.
I really REALLY agree with you! :D

sorry Kami , I presumed you did ,with how strongly you feel about the subject at hand and that the fact you had to resort to abusing ppl rather than just give your opinion. I didn't realise that you can't be incorrect.

The bold Caps lock doesn't help your cause.

You are a bunny hopper , it doesn't matter if you hop once , twice , three times.Hopping around corners. You are Bunny Hopping noob.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csr4hBGGlHM close enough??
I'm sorry but Kami is correct Joeface. And you are wrong.

Here is the Wikipedia definition of bunny hopping:
    Wikipedia wrote:
The term is most used in first-person shooters to refer to act of pressing the jump key while holding a movement key to move faster and/or to evade attacks more effectively. In several games based on Quake engines or their derivatives moving in a zigzag[2] pattern while bunny hopping (see strafejumping) is the fastest way to move around and increases length of jumps, making the player an even more difficult target. While a zigzag movement pattern may not be the fastest way to get from one point to another in other games, players may feel that the protection provided by bunny hopping more than compensates for this disadvantage. Bunny hopping might also be required to gain speed to perform a trick jump or to provide better movement control while in mid-air (especially after performing a trick jump).

Now that you know exactly what bunny hopping is, you must agree that bunny hopping is impossible in CoD games.

The video you posted shows a player jumping around. Not bunny hopping.

If you find people jumping around annoying/frustrating, that's your right. But the games developers at Infinity Ward disagree with you and that's why it's allowed.

However, this is another argument entirely... ;)

I don't like people jumping to avoid getting shot based on purely asthetic reasons. Jumping to avoid a bullet just takes away from the atmosphere of a game.

On this point is it not possible that Infinity Ward have not removed the tactic for technical reasons? I'm not saying that is the case, it's a genuine question.

Recent studies into FPS games have concluded the following:
    • Fact: 83.4% of people who "jump around" are gay.
    • Fact: 95.7% of people who "bunnyhop" have yet to get laid.

...now I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but I'm only stating facts here.

I'm sorry but I don't think I understand your question. What do you mean by "IW have not removed the tactic for technical reasons"? They can do pretty much what they want in the engine... That's how they managed to block bunny hopping.

So Kami ...do you "JUMP AROUND LIKE BIATCH" when playing cod4?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 Sealclubber

I can't believe this is an issue. When I blast someone with my shotgun while they're in mid jump they just die from a slightly higher altitude. And anybody who complains about grenade launchers or juggernaut is ridiculous, nobody's stopping you from using them if you feel they offer such a major advantage.

Both. It's a tactic because it can work but you obviously look like a dick so don't overdo it.

I put bunny hoppers and noob toobers and Martydom right up there with padeophiles....
Castration is too good for the fcukers..
Of course it's easy to dispatch them but it's still annoying at the same time.
Last stand I love..you get these guys who fire or two shots into you and expect you to die..except you put a few bullets into his head and he's going ****ing nuts screaming "last stand sucks".
"no bud..u fcukin suck because you never allowed for last stand..ur just a crap gamer" :D
Especially last stand with the DE...one shot kills...remember I was on last stand in a corridor where the other team had to come through...used my whole mag on the DE on them before I died and got 6 kills :D
They were a bit pissed off

 What? Your logic for last stand applies to martyrdom.

Neither Martyrdom or Last stand bother me for the same reason - "I allow for them".
You here a 'nade drop - you run.
You shoot someone enough times to ensure he's dead.

i think from now on im going to jump everywhere with a m16, juggernaut, grenade launcher, and last stand/martyrdom.

Surely if you wanted to see who is the better player, you'd ban ALL perks, not just the "noob" ones like jugg + martyrdom? If you're gonna expand that, then why not ban all guns except for 1 particular one?

The whole point of the many and varied perks is that everyone can find their own particular comination to use to play to their own strengths......e.g. On basically any map except for shipment, jugg is pretty necessary for a shotgunner because he has to get close-up, or when playing HQ martyrdom is useful in situations where you have to run into a room of 3-5 people who are capping/destroying an objective. You know you're going to die, so you might as well try to take them down with you and help your team out.
    Joeface wrote: »
Marty is just the most annoying , Punishing someone cause you weren't good enough .come on

Same could be said about almost any perk. Stopping power: you were'nt good enough to hit them in the head/chest or to hit them with enough bullets to kill them. Deep Impact: you weren't good enough to hit them before they went into cover etc.

    Bullsh1t argument tbh.
Lol kami, dunno why you are wasting your time even trying to talk to public gamers, let them stay on their hardcore servers :D

Elitism and game snobbery at it's finest. Enjoy yourselves.

Giving out about someone using a particular perk is ridiculous. They all have their pros and cons. If it really bothers you that much and makes you genuinely annoyed or angry then you need to cop on ffs. It's just a game.
