i've got the flu and like clockwork, i feel like muck every 4 hours or so.. until my lemsip and solpadeine kicks in. :)

so yay or nay for mild medicine?

I do yeah... I had a thing for paracetomol (sp?) about a year ago, just started taking them all the time so I don't touch them anymore.

But yeah if I'm not well I'll take whatever will make me well!

I think laughter is the best medicine so when i feel sick i dress up cats and make them dance. Cheaper than panadol too

I have a tendency not to take medicine. Mainly because I don't think of it. But when I do, I generally take it religiously.

Rarely. I'd take a bit of echinacea when I've a cold. Bongella for a mouth ulser. No panadol, no lemsip, no zovirax, etc.

any particular reason apart from your liver? ( think its the liver that gets damaged )

Yup. Wouldn't normally take anything for a regular headache, just let it wear off, but if the throat is playing up, the lemsips go down. My throat, that is.

    I never take Panadol etc.

If you get a headache there's usually a reason why, dehydrated etc etc.

Treat the cause, not the symptoms. :)

I'll only take medicine if a doctor has prescribed it to me, and I'll only go to the doctor if I'm forced to. I personally hate taking any medicine, my older sister used to take a lot of antibiotics and others medicines when she was a child and it's very likely it contributed to her bad immune system now. Her body can hardly fight off a touch of the flu.

I'll never take medicine except paracetamol for a bad headache. I'll take medicine if I'm viciously sick, but luckily it hardly happens. If you got the flu, its all about resting and relaxing.

yea url, get your coat. :)

i'd never touch anything with paracetamol in it, it's horrible shyte. nurofen/ibuprofen is more effective, far less shytey on the liver.

    and robitussin conquers all.

If I'm actually sick, of course, and only a fool wouldn't. But for me to consider myself in need of medicine I'd have to be pretty bad.

I only take any medicine when I'm prescribed it. The only exception is if I have a toothache, then I'll take painkillers.

I rarely take over the counter medicine. I don't know why, really. Just not in the habit. I rarely get sick and I was in my 20s before I had my first headache. Normally when I do get sick, it's not serious enough to warrant a visit to the doctor and thus, not serious enough to warrant taking medicine.

That said, I'm fairly certain I'm going to fall victim to the swine flu this fall, and my refusal to take medicine or go to the doctor will be my final undoing!

The odd Neurofen + for headaches or when I hurt my back playing football.

    A Lemsip the odd time.

If I'm sick, I'll take something.

I wouldn't open a drawer, find some paracetamol and think "Oh, this'll do for breakfast!" or anything!

My bf is like that, he could have a banging headache and he still won't take a pain killer, doesn't 'agree' with it  what's not to agree with, why suffer when you can relieve the pain??

I'm the total opposite, if I even feel a sniffle coming on I'm practically getting myself airlifted 2 the nearest chemist :D

I don't care if I even have a ghost of a headache or I just farted strangely. I take all the drugs available to me all the time.

I think a lot of people avoid taking medicine casually because they fear they'll build up a resistance and it won't work properly when they really need it.. The way I see it, if I'm that sick, it'll be more than a few paracetemol I'll be after  :pac:

Used to always take paracetamol for my headaches. Then i found out they were sinus headaches so i take sudafed/actifed instead.

Haven't gotten one in months but it baffles me why someone would endure hours of agony when they could be free from the pain completely.

As for natural remedies.......I once woke up at 5am with the most excruciating stomach pain. I figured a fap would cause an endorphin release which would help ease my pain. It actually kinda worked .
