Is it necessary to have attended the previous days/talks? I haven't.

    Not necessary, but useful.

No, not necessary. But as Donothoponpop says some prior map reading experience is useful.

In all probability I'll do the basic Glendalough walk and talk session again before the hill running season gets underway. Most likely in conjunction with IMRA.

Count me in. Looks great! I missed the previous Nav courses but have done MS1 and MS2 (albeit a few years ago1) so hope I can pick up!

Ok folks that about full up.
I might have one non-boards body tagging along.

    See you there

Just in case there is an extra place being lost through confusion...PositiveNegativ, Ar Strae = Ronan = (I'm guessing) that other non-boards runner you were talking to on mail

You signed up here, that makes you Boards. Right?
The extra body is a fellow hill runner who I don't think posts here, but then you never know...

    Yeah...believe me I need this course :-)

I am probably the only person alive to have navigated through and past Auckland without realising I'd hit it...a city of 1.4 million people.

Sorrry but I will also not be around for this now. Hopefully there's someone else who can get the benefit of the knowledge of PositiveNegativ.

    Hi Lads

Sorry to do this but we've had an almost 50% drop out rate for this so I'm going to push back and try for a new date.

    Apologies for the short notice

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 147 ✭✭Ar Strae

Curses! But completely understandable..no point wasting your time etc.

And I guess it gives me a chance to dust off the auld compass and map and go out in the hills and look around this Saturday.

I know this is cheeky and maybe not appropriate but given this is being rescheduled I thought I would throw it out there as a suggestion -
Any chance when you reschedule that maybe some of the newly upskilled boardies would stick around for an hour or two and run a bit of an informal beginner introduction session for newbies thus practicing what you have learned while paying it forward?

Just wondering if there has been any thought to a new date for putting this on as the IMRA season hots up! Could really do with it!!

    Cheers,

    Ro
