Anyone else using aviate launcher found it has become quite sluggish, buggy and unresponsive at times lately?

Was grand up until recently, my fave launcher by far.

    Thanks for that Yahoo.

Nope, fine for me. Still using it almost a year later (started using it in October last year), and still love it.

I have a fairly new phone (M8), so maybe the issue is with older phones? Or maybe you have six zillion apps installed? :)

Are many people using the Google Now launcher?
Just wondering what other people make of it, I love it.

I'm on the note3, wouldn't have too many apps tbh. ..

Think I'll do a cache clear, see if it helps any.

Wow the last Swiftkey update has been a total disaster, for me anyway, it started crashing whenever my text or browser apps started to use it, rolled back to the previous one and found it had become incredibly slow, uninstalled and trying Swype once I get to a wi-fi connection.

Tbh the stock Android keyboard seems so nippy now when I use it Swiftkey must have been slow for some time, pity.

Love it. Had it side loaded on my tab 3 and note 3 for months before it became available on the play store.

I always use swiping capabilities for typing and Flow kept coming up with mind bogglingly awful predictions so I've abandoned swiftkey and gone back to Sense input for now. Found swiftkey to be getting very laggy and frustrating lately too. Pity really as I quite like the layout and themes.

I uninstalled Aviate a few weeks ago, never liked it once it came out of beta and the location features never worked as well as they did during the beta. Strange that!

Slower than downloading them on to your pc then converting them and then transferring them to your phone?

    Pocketcasts is pretty good imo.

I listen to some on my PC and some on my phone. I find it faster anyway.

Used to use LiveSport.co.uk app a lot but it stopped working the last week or so. Anyone have any alternatives that lets you select what sports and channels and shows you whats on each day?

Try tv24 app and you can sports can also sort out what channels you have.

Yeah I'm using that one already but the beauty of the other app was you could hide all the sports you'd no interest in. With TV24 it's really like a list of everything that's on the sports channels. Cheers though!!

What do people consider the best app (free or paid) for a lost/stolen phone?

Android Device Manager, Cerberus, Lookout, Theftie if you're rooted

Cerberus is probably the best, a combination is no harm, and its cheaper than a new phone

Same here. Using it on three devices and no problems at all.

What problems are you having with it and what phone do you have?

I found that having Google Now on all the time was draining the battery, even with carefully selected location services. Also, I like to be able to hide apps in the drawer to keep things neat and you can't do it with that launcher. Those reasons put me of it on my phone. Having said that, I use it in my nexus 7, but those things are less of annoyance on that device as I don't use it half as much as the phone.

Does anyone know of a good budgeting app, especially for someone new to doing a budget?

Not sure if its helpful for budgeting in terms of planning, but I find this is great for tracking what you are spending and where.

It's not a budgeting app per se. I find it brilliant though. You can log all your expenses as they happen and categorise them. It'll take a tiny bit of practice. You can also log future planned expenses and incomes. It's in this sense that I use it for budgeting. I make a guess what the expense will be and any differences I add back as a source of income - and vice versa. In about a month or so you'll see how efficiently you're using your recurring sources of income.

Budgeting is probably the best thing anyone can do. Keep the patience though it'll take a few months before you'll before you'll be able to budget accurately whatever software or app you use. (Even if it's just a sheet of paper!)

I used Financius for a while and found it very good. I had to add a lot of extra categories to it though.
