I remeber a woman asked me to find her a satnav for her phone, I took her phone she never even had a google account. I set one up for her. She never even knew the play store was the app store, she was using the samsung store. It was a S4.

It's possible to download them to your PC see here, but as TheTechGuy said why not just download them to your phone.

If you are downloading to your PC and then transferring to your device, you will need to turn on "Unknown sources" in security settings. This might not always work due to some games/apps needing an additional download.

Anyone here playing game called "Lyne".

Its a join the dots style puzzler with a nice minimal style design and audio.
Plenty of content in it and they release daily sets of levels too.

You should try dots by game dots http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=88977976&postcount=25

    Simple but bloody addictive.

Go to the Play Store on your PC, sign into the same Google account and click download on any app and it will instantly start installing on your phone.

Cool, have this on my N5 and like it.
Gonna put it on the N7 now also.

There also a GEL settings Xposed module, so you can tweek with it a bit. Add/remove rows/columns for apps on the homescreen, that kinda thing (needs root).

    Out There by Mi-Clos Studio

Just picked this up, available from the Play store (see above), or the Humble Bundle game store, for a little bit cheaper.

Looks interesting. Sort of FTL-ish, but more relaxed.

Guys, when you buy an Android game from Humble store, do you get a standalone apk or does it link to your play store account as a verified purchase?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,414 ✭✭✭Fluffy88

All the Humble Bundle deals I bought gave me a separate apk to install.

There is a Humble Bundle app, install it, login and it lists all your Humble Bundle purchases. You can install any of your Humble Bundle apps straight from their app.

..as Fluffy88 stated. Very straightforward, you are notified of updates via the app too.

    Cool, thanks!

Although I already have 4 app stores on the phone! GPS, Amazon appstore, Aptoide, and F-Droid.
    1 more won't hurt :)

Are Aptoid and F-Droid ok? Do they drain the battery or slow the phone at all?

F-Droid is fairly lightweight for me. I really ony have 1 or 2 apps associated to it, so it's grand.
Aptoide is a bit heavier as it tries to associate itself to all your apps, regardless of if you used it to install them or not. I just turn off 'check for updates' in the menu so that it doesn't run unless you've called it to the foreground.

To be honest, they are some of the first apps I install on a phone, so I wouldn't really know what the battery life is without them :)

F-Droid has no DRM, and you can disable update-checking if you want.

You can buy a cable on Amazon for around 20 euro that will connect your nexus to your TV.

There's no way that that content is being provided legally.
Tfitzgerald - can you elaborate on exactly how you checked?

Google Play is having some birthday promotion for their 2nd anniversary.
One or two free games, like Dungeon Keeper, but the rest are discounts on in-app purchases.
