So that you could prepare yourself for them? Or try to change the habits?

For me nothing. I have no problem with any of his habits and I can't see there's anything I could have changed if I'd known about them previously.

There's nothing that I wish I'd known beforehand . . . but I have discovered some new things!

Me either. But did I discover anything new? Not really. Well, only good things :p But then we moved in fairly quickly, so I suppose I was still learning things about him anyway!

My ex didn't live with em but when he'd come over he'd rearranged things in the bathroom, it was awfully strange.
He used to smoke in my room, also. Drove me mental.

Oh yeah, I discovered he didn't like nested tables. Maybe "didn't like" is not strong enough...he was over in my place one time while we were going out and ripped all the pages which contained the offensive furniture out of the Argos catalogue.:pac:

But I discovered that before I moved in with him. It kind of attracted me more to him cause he was a little irrationally crazy

I thought it was a little funny :)

Didn't live with my ex exactly but might as well have for he spent all of his time in mine. I found out he liked to leave the bathroom door and have a chat with me while he was on the toilet......... Not cool!

Saw an episode of Sex and the City a while ago where that happened and laughed and laughed! Major turn off! Be comfortable with me, yeah, but please close the bathroom door when you're.... eh.... doing a poo!!

I'm just about to move in with mine - I'm really looking forward to it but I'm also very nervous as I've never lived with a boyfriend before... eeek!

I can't say that there's anything I'm overly concerned about but I'm wondering how we'll get on, 24-7, if you know what I mean. Will we bore each other? Will we argue about little things?

Put this this way, we're gonna find out soon enough!!!!!

One day I was in the bedroom, on my laptop when next thing the en suite door opened and there he was, sitting on the loo, doing a number two and just started talking to me as if it was perfectly normal! :(

You can imagine how that went down! I was sitting there literally in shock and I swear, I never looked at him the same way again!
I'm all for being open in a relationship but that is just way, way too far for me!

    Lucky Mrs Khannie! :)

Haha it's hilarious 'cause I was always too scared to mention it to any of my friends 'cause I thought I was actually being weird about the whole thing! It was like my first proper relationship where we spent most of our time together so I thought it was the done thing! :D

That he has severe allergy to dust that means I have to hoover our upstairs twice a week or he sneezes for agggges!!!

That he doesn't put the glasses into the press properly!!!!! (maybe this is me & not him....)

That he'd be so kind & look after me the way he does (with the exception of the glasses thing):D

Something that really bugged me with my ex hubby is that he'd almost expect a thank you for helping out with the housework. Trust me I'm no neat freak nor am I overly tidy, but like when he managed to drag out the hoover he'd almost get pissed if you didn't acknowledge it. Drove me crazy.

The general untidiness of my Mrs wouldbe the one I'd chose I suppose.

She's one of these who likes to 'tidy'. i.e. pile as much stuff into a press / cupboard / wardrobe so its out of plain view - but can never find anything!

Drinking out of milk / orange juice cartons out of the fridge
    Leaving toilet seat up
Leaving wet foot prints after a shower & towel soaking on the floor with the dirty boxers!
But being a real clean freak at the same time, like just having to throw out everything in a pile of things that have accumulated on the table. Some things are important, but OK I'm a bit messy too!

None of the above would have stopped me moving in with him, but we all live with people that do things that can be irritating!

Oh yeah, he sometimes leaves the bathroom door slightly open while peeing too! I close it on him and give out, but definitely must be closed for anything else! I would freak out too at that, and talking to you while he did it??? How did he think that was normal?

I second the post about him wanting serious recognition everytime he lifts a finger. He pretends he doesn't, but I can see him dropping hints to get me to notice he's cleaned up or whatever, and waiting for me to tell him how awesome he is, even though I do it all the time un-noticed.

I also second the post-shower problem of leaving the place absolutely drenched. my situation is even worse though, because he TRIES to clean up, but ends up trailing the soaking towels out to the other bathroom, dripping them all over the floor, and then leaves them in a damp unfolded heap over the side of the bath where he thinks they will magically dry. So I have to clean up after him even though he thinks he has cleaned up!!!! He also leaves ALL lights on in every room he's ever been in.

I still love him though :-)

That he sees no problem with barging in to the bathroom to take a dump while I'm relaxing in the bath!

    +1 !!!
Why do they think that they will dry in a heap? I tried spreading it out on the rail, and explaining to him that if it was spread out and air circulating then it wouldn't be wet when he went to use it again!
I also tried leaving it as he left it, but he doesn't seem to mind using a wet towel, rather than going looking for a new one!

Also +1 for the recognition of doing some of the house work, and then disappointed when I point out that he didn't do the bathroom too! I burst his bubble, what did he want a lollipop and a gold star?? :P

Oh believe me, in my innocence in the early days I tried (I'm a bit of a tidy freak) really hard to leave things as he left them and see how he liked it when he went to use dirty mugs or wet towels - and he doesn't mind either!!!! WHat is it with guys? They can operate in total oblivion to every bit of mess and filth around them and live quite happily never drying or cleaning a thing. I cracked before I could let the whole apartment go to pot and started cleaning again.

The funniest thing about my OH is he CAN be guilt tripped and will try and do house work, but he always does it wrong (i.e. the towel thing). I inevitably have to clean up after him cleaning up!!! And I honestly don't think it's a case of "if I do this really terribly she'll never ask me again", cos he's really proud of himself for helping out and thinks he's great.

I hope he doesn't read this ha ha:D

Haha! novella that aint cool, myself and my bf are on the whole farting terms and thats the norm at this stage, but its pretty much my whole house that does it anyway! cant avoid farts in my place hahaha! and we do shout through the bathroom doors regardless of whats going on in there.

saying that theres nothing i wouldve liked to have known, turned out to be the best housemate ive ever had and quite the little bitchy rants buddy! and when we've no heat hes like a radiator! :D everyday without fail he tells me thanks for dinner gives me a hug and kiss then washes up! hahah! :)

I don't wish I'd known anything in particular. We moved in together after only a few months so it was a bit of a baptism of fire anyway.

His most annoying habit is probably his uncanny ability to always fail to let me know when he's used the last of anything & his equally unfaltering habit of not replacing it even if we have more in the cupboard/freezer ie loo roll, milk, toothpaste, etc. Could be so much worse!

On the poo'ing thing - we shout conversations thru the door but I wouldn't stand in the same room - more a health & safety thing than feeling squeamish or disgust. :pac:

If you have a regular teeth brusher, you lucky girls!! ;)
