Right so I love "metime" and can be quite cranky if I don't have it. I just thought I'd pose the question What is your favourite way to spend it?

I love Reading, doing my nails and watching the soaps.I love doing a conditioning treatment in my hair too. I also like having a huge glass of wine and watching telly. I like shopping alone too

Cooking is my everyday me time.
Nobody bugs you when they are waiting to be fed :D
It is a muscle memory too, so while you waiting for things to happen, you zone into a lovely peaceful place.

Cups of tea are another everyday escape.

I like just being totally alone for even a couple of hours.

Shower, hair dry, fresh clothes, house to myself some cans or a shoulder of vodaka to go with a good movie then good music (nothing new, just old favourites) and a chill out session on the couch and fresh sheets for bed about 4 or 5 am

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 529 ✭✭✭rhapsody!

Shopping alone aswell, where no one's there to say "omg you actually LIKE that?" or "ugh we've been in here for ages". etc etc.

I like to read aswell. Also like to go sit by the river in the peace and quiet, or just watch dvds.

I just realized how wonderful this was a few weeks ago. Even five minutes of soaking your feet after being on them all day will give you a whole new outlook on the evening.

    Must agree with you there!!!!!!!!

I suppose my problem here was that I had my children 15 years ago when I was 19 so my idea back then was heading out for a night clubbing with my mates whereas my idea of relaxing now is a hot bath with a glass of wine:)

I like to read or better still go for coffee and cake and sit and read a magazine without anyone disturbing me.

Like going down to the beach for a walk too and love shopping on my own.

During the day, read or something. At night go sit under the stars. The general understanding is anyone who bothers me will either a be drawn into a deep intellectual discussion on whatever book I'm reading or will be smacked upside the head/kicked depending on my mood. Needless to say, I cannot remember the last time someone was dumb enough to come bother me :D

Oh our hammock on the balcony, that is heaven.
Swining under the stars, i-pod in, cup of tea. Perfect.

A nice long shower by myself, or a nice boiling hot bath and a cup of tea. Although nothing beats a nice big takeaway, pjs, couch, blanket and dvds! :)

Oh no, not at all! There is nothing worse than picking up something you like in a shop and having someone with you say "Ugh, that's ugly!". It puts me off buying things I really like! I hate feeling like I'm holding people up too, I just like to wander around shops in my own time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,469 ✭✭✭Pythia

Long shower, paint my nails, put on moisturiser, spend ages doing my hair and then early to bed.

i hate when someone isnt really interested in shopping and is just traipsing around after me

i prefer to make up my own mind rather than have someone influence me

i dont want others commenting on how much im spending

for me time, i love putting on my ipod and dancing (badly) around the kitchen

or going for a walk on the beach

or turning off the phone and curling up with a good book

I do mystery shopping for off licences and as a result I have millions of cans of cheap beer in my room. I heard somewhere that washing your hair in beer is good for it so I decided to give it a shot but ended up basically just drinking half a can in the shower and it was SO nice! I wouldn't normally be a beer drinker but I think shower beers are going to be my new "me time" thing to do!
Apart from that some nice "me time" activities are pointlessly putting on a full face of make up and then just washing it off again (anyone else do this??) or making some sort of amazing sandwich with millions of different condiments.

Hell no! I hate shopping with other people, I have to be on my own!

The best me-time is coming home after a hard day at work, just kicking off the shoes and relaxing....in silence! Bliss.

I too love shopping on my own!

Too many of my friends have too many of their own ideas about what i should and shouldnt wear/ makeup i should wear/ etc etc I try to be as open minded as i can when forced to shop with them but my patience is very limited!

me time..mm i love sitting around on the net and walking my dogs on a empty beach some where .....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,129 ✭✭✭Nightwish

Internet, reading, movies/tv show boxsets or shopping. All of these things are so much better on your own. I'm having a weekend alone at the moment and its bliss. Just me and my doggy watching Law & Order dvd's, eating pizza!

chick flicks/tv boxsets, oodles of tea, nail polish, trying on my clothes (lol) - putting outfits together, read a book.

A proper, rare me time - when I've ventured into Lush and bought a few nice bits for the bath etc...put some music on and lather myself up in vanilla/coconut products :D happy days! In fact, might treat my self tonight!

I lie in bed all day and read really bad, trashy novels. Nothing mind expanding or improving is allowed, just mindless pulp fiction. There is usually chocolate involved too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Birdie086

A Nice long soak in the bath, followed by a couple of glasses of chilled rose wine(accompanied by a blazing fire in the winter).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,796 ✭✭✭MJOR

i'm gonna have a bottle size gLass now for myself as i am home alone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,983 ✭✭✭✭Hermione*

Yoga workshops ftw! I did a three hour workshop yesterday and I felt as if I was floating on air afterwards, I was so relaxed.

I also like to run on the beach, take a long bath, go for a manicure/pedicure, light candles or burn oils, or banish housemates from the kitchen and have a big cookathon. One of my favourite things to do is to curl up on the sofa with a stack of reading and a bottle of vino/ pot of coffee/ herbal tea (depending on my mood and the time of day!). I love being alone: I need a little aloneness every day to stay calm!

Oh, and I also love shopping alone! I take myself off for a big mug of coffee afterwards to reward myself for the hard work and read a glossy magazine. Bliss!
