Anyone else noticed that King Crisps are not tasting like they used to over the past few weeks. I defo notice the difference anyway. I'm contemplating sending them a mail to see what the story is.
I'd hate to move over to Tayto on a permanent basis.

I'm with you. Tell 'em unless they start tasting like they did in the 80's when they had the see-through bit on the front of the pack, they can feck off and I'll go live on pringles instead.

Ah the great crisp debate, this is something I can get my teeth into.

Walkers, although they're not my number one choice they go down great when I get the munchies after a few bottles.

Tayto still set the benchmark for me. Sorry OP your beloved King can feic off :D

    Flavour?

I find that pub crisps have more flavour than the normal shop ones. Not sure why. The same for Tayto, which is a bad thing because you get that horrible greasy flavouring all over your hands and it just won't come off without a good scrub.

King are legend! I went down to the Perri/Hunky Dory/Tayto/King factory (i.e. Ray Coyle) in Kilbrew and bought 2 boxes of King Luxury crisps last week for €16 per box (of 60). Have had great fun horsing them down since.

In fairness, even Abrakebabra goes down well then.

I rather Tayto over King to be honest.

Another damn tasty crisp is McCoys Cheese&Onion!

I do have a slight thing for meanies. Althought they wouldn't be the 12 pack i'd buy each week.

Go Perri! No better crisps after a few pints!

Haven't seen Perri crisps for sale in ages!

People are right, Walkers are missing something; Crisps! Anytime I open a bag of them they seem to be putting less and less in each time! Rip off. Tayto Salt and Vinegar with a can of coke ftw!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭syngindub

not mad about the oul perri. About 16 different flavours. to much to think about.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 719 ✭✭✭Tobyglen

Just go with the pub crisp or the cheese and onion and you can't go wrong. Walkers aint bad aswell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,572 ✭✭✭WeeBushy

Cheese and Onion Hunky Dory's. There's just no beating them.

bacon fries FTW just increase the size of the bag please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭bitemybanger

its only since King crisps were relocated and are now being made in the Perri factory in Kilbrew between Ashbourne and Dunshaughlin that they lost the WOW factor and since Tayto moved there too from coolock they have tasted nicer so im torn between the two, think Tayto just tips it

I've noticed this, but I thought maybe it was just one bad multi-pack so bought a few packets from a few different shops. All the same. Really hope they sort it out. I hate Tayto and Walkers.

Red Doritos with the dips from Marks and Sparks! I second the Bacon Fries

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 719 ✭✭✭Tobyglen

If they can bring back the Wispa they should bring back Monster Munch! The greatest packet of crisps bar none!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭syngindub

Sounds like the're cutting back on some flavouring in the latest batch of King. There is literally no flavour in them, whatever the fu*k has happened in the factory.

They really need to bring this back. Shove your foil up your arse, crisp manufacturers! We all know the true reason they changed it: so that we can't see how stingy they've become with the amount of crisps they put in!

They were radical indeed with that crinkle; a great idea of Ray Coyle's to make Hunky Dory's with the crinkle. Sam Spudz cheese and onion crinkled were also legendary. Haven't seen Sam Spudz in years.

Ha! I thought I saw them in the Perri/King/Tayto/Hunky Dory factory storeroom last week and sure enough I must have as Raymond Coyle also bought Sam Spudz/Burger Bites.

Yeah Kings crisps (Cheese & Onion anyway) have definately gone downhill a lot in the last few months anyway. Even the colouring has changed. Has anyone else found that the crisps are all dark brown and burnt looking now?
