Not much you can do to prepare for a medical. Whatever you do, do not bull**** them, on anything. Just relax, and do what they ask.

There really isn't anything you can do to be fair other then avoiding loud noises about 72 hours before it for the hearing test but you've probably been told that.

Nah was the Army, I'm sure the Navy ones will be out to you soon though, good luck in it!
Sorry to hear that blondie, fingers crossed for you next year though!

Thanks hoppy - was pretty gutted when I saw it to be honest. Sure hopefully the reserves will start taking people in again soon and I'll go for that, will be better then just moping around feeling sorry for myself :)
The Reserve are taking people on but think it mite be kinda unknown at the mo, I had gone back in jan when i thought the cadets weren't happening, did my hearing and the moritorium happened but did get a call 5weeks ago to say if i was still interested that i could get in for signing off by doctor so def go and persist i know 200 have been allowed in recently!

Well done all who got it, i wasn't lucky this time but hopefully that'll change for next time. I know usually they start in Feb each year but does any one have any idea if this will still be the case with this one starting so late?
I was extremely gutted this time because to be honest i thought i'd nailed it! At least if nothing else I've discovered a serious desire to get it next time! Whenever that'll be. Fair dues to all of ye again, it certainly wasn't easy to get this far!

Hi Folks, just wondering what the story is going to be with holidays and passes throughout the cadetship...
Can anything be guaranteed, ie if you bust your b****x at gettin everything squared away can you pretty sure of getting your weekend a month, or do you get a few random day passes here and there as well/instead...or is it just a clever ruse and your vanished for the 15 months!? Also anyone heard of the plans of leave for christmas, its a pretty late intake this yr, 30th nov, so we going to see light of day at all ye reckon or what did last yrs class get? Down to the wire now, bloody waiting is some killer...reckon the 13th as well, possibly a day or two before...

Don't expect to see any kind of pass until Christmas. After that, it's usually down to behaviour and how busy the syllabus is, time on the ground etc.

From what I've seen though, weekend passes are fairly scarce up until you're the senior class.

Figured it'd be in straight through till christmas alright...load of stories about the leave at christmas picked up over the day at the medical, it bein such a late intake i reckon there could be truth to that 4 days thing, though others reckon it'll be the 2 n a 1/2 weeks, was hoping for the 2nd of jan myself, 2 weeks seems unlikely...nothings in the bag yet but none the less it'd be nice to be able to plan!!:(
