Not the cheapest one going but this would certainly be a good pressie for anyone who has lots of movies and an external hard-drive

Yep, bought 2 of these off Ebay from Hong Kong.

But are being held at Customs.. owe €17 but still works out cheaper than buying them from Ebuyer (though it took over a month to get here, so I'd recommend EBuyer or SVP to get it faster).

Note they have lots of great things

Such as robot vaccum cleaners + wireless keyboards, just everything!

It doesnt look like it supports HD video (mkv codec). Pity.

Recently ( Dec 5) bought dsi at HMV in Westfield London, £155 including a new game, got to Heathrow with time to spare, HMV there were selling them for £128 and for another £5 you got the same choice of up to date games. They could not refund on the original items but I got a refund for it at HMV Cork the next day.

Nice saving of £22, thanks very much........

Dunnes on patrick street in cork have a really good lunch deal at the mo. U cet a fresh packed sandwich, pack of crisps and a bottle of water all for only €2.50! I think this is brilliant value. The sandwish alone would cost that. They're really nice sandwich too and the crisps r those type of fancy ones likes walkers sensations or taytos occaisions.

Got Rock Band (360) on its own for £7.47
Quite happy with that, as I was about to place an impulse order for £15 on play, but decided to check gamestracker first (superb website, should be in every BA gamer's bookmarks!)

Found fecking nothing in the post-Christmas sales to be honest!

Last thing I bought was earlier this week, I ordered Moon and District 9 on Blu-ray for €22 delivered from MyMemory in a BOGOF promotion. Amazing value considering they're selling District 9 for €27 alone in HMV, and €20 for Moon.

Also got a LG HFB-500 Bluetooth Solar Car Kit off MyMemory for €22.

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭the_pod

Not really sure if either of these deserve there own thread so I've resurrected this one.
Ordered these last night as gifts (cheesy, I know):

USB Missile Launcher - £8.92 including delivery
    http://www.thehut.com/10064270.html

    FCUK - F EDT 100ml & Body Lotion 100ml - £12.89 (it was less than £10 when I ordered it last night)

Stepped on my glasses while I here in Australia (after a drunken night), Glasses here are expensive enough, so I googled where to get cheap specs in australia and found a forum that listed a few sites one in particular got A1 reviews from the users (ZenniOptical)

    http://www.zennioptical.com/

I had my prescription back home as I got it before I left from specsavers but didn't have time to order a new pair. I had to ring specsavers for my pupillary distance (distance between eyes) as this is required but anyway:

Sceptically I got some titanium flexi frames for US$17, and they are a million times better quality frames and glasses then specsavers

I have since got a spare pair of glasses and prescription sunglasses, complete with plastic cases and wipes included!

Considering the cheapest 'decent' frame in specsavers in €99 there's a hell of a saving to be made!

With the recent weather I decided to treat myself and invest in a new hat that was capable of dealing with these extremes.

I went online and bought one from this crowd.

    http://www.furhatworld.com/

Given the weather they have in Canada I expected that they would know a thing or two about keeping warm.

    Cost $70 + $7 p&p (= E58)

The hat arrived a couple of days ago, about two weeks after ordering it. Delighted with it. A lifetime job (provided I don't lose it). Unbelievable value compared to what they were charging for faux (false immitation) fur hats in places like 53" North etc

That site almost made me impulse buy this hat. Then I saw the price and bought this one instead. We better get that cold weather I'm hoping for.:pac:

I also bought the Sony 40" LCD TV in Argos last week. That's about all recent major purchases from here.

I bought my girlfriend the complete novels of Jane Austen for £6.75stg on Amazon...
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Novels-Wordsworth-Library-Collection/dp/1840225564/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1293971990&sr=8-8
This comes in the form of a huge (1440 pages), very impressive looking hardback.

Any fans of literary classics (or indeed fans of inexpensive yet impressive bookshelf fillers) might be interested to know there are also similar collections available for the Bronte sisters, Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll and others.
