i had that idea in my mind alright, but no, i don't think i will go back ....
i don't think i can stick with it, although i love the ppl in school etc etc,
but i just don't want to put myself through it again , anyway,

i only have 5 opinions down in my CAO, if it went terribly wrong..well, i will still be happy with my last opinion...if i do happen to get less than 400..and didn't even get that, then i will think about it ....

    Why?

If you dont theres a chance you wont be doing the same optional topics that you did the year before...

It's not about the topics you cover. If you repeat in the same school
    A) you may have some of the bad teachers you had
    B) usually you will fall back into the same bad habits
    C) you spend more time talking and getting closer to people you know
    D) it's just a bad idea

Repeating is not about socialising, and a whole new year of friends to get to know. A new school gives you a fresh start to break old habits, and really gets you ready to work hard instead of doing the same lack of work again. You may have a bad relationship with some teachers, and to be honest that's really not what you want or need when you are there to repeat.
My friend repeated in our school, the same school she had gone to. And in my opinion did even less. Not only did she spend half the year worrying about going out with her new friends, but because she didn't get on with some of the teachers she had again, she spent the vast majority of class time bad mouthing them instead of actually listening to them in class.
A complete waste of a year for her.

I thought I had other options but with the economic crisis now Airlines are hiring flight attendants so I don't know what to do if the results are disasterous. :(

If you flat out refuse to repeat, what other options are there? You can redo any of the core 3 subjects while keeping previous results from other subjects, right?

I know you can do any subject, but I thought taking one outside of the core 3 meant you had to take everything again.

I'm pretty sure it does. If you fail anything outside the core subjects and have to repeat you need to do everything again.

    I think... :pac:

Repeating is out of the question. If I don't get into either of the only two courses I'm interested in, then I'll find another way.
I'm an artist, so I could just send my portfolio around and hope for some work. I'm covered!

I've no fear,I'm pretty sure i'm repeating,And it's all for the best,I know a few fella's who left and are coming back and one who did sweet FA for it and need almost 400 points,So i don't think it'll be bad..

I only have one thing on my CAO and don't want to do it so i've got to wait till next year anyway,I've got a year of free time which i was gonna' go to england for but what with all the swine flu i'd rather not :pac:,If i feel i could of done better i'll repeat

I repeated last year and I have to say its well more enjoyable then your normal sixth year and it feels alot more like college we were given alot more freedom then we had in a normal sixth year.

To anyone planning to repeat your leaving cert I'd suggest not going in around the winter months its ****e. Alot of people from my year seemed to quit around that time and i almost did myself.
