I suggest taking advantage of the fact that Ubuntu has been pre-installed for you and at least trying it out. You can always install a different OS later, but who knows you might like Ubuntu. There's a Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Desktop Edition Desktop Tour on the Ubuntu web site. This is probably the Ubuntu version included with this Mesh PC from EBuyer. There's also a brief introduction to the Ubuntu 8.04 desktop on YouTube.
