She's always hot. And a great dancing partner once you get her going. Lisa, if you're reading this, marry me.

What is this magical list then?

God love Whelans. The tragic thing is that I was so well-oiled that I had to be reminded about it by my friend the next morning. But if I hadn't been that jolly I never would have went up and started chatting to her in the first place. Catch 22.

Enough about my wife, as tame as she looks :pac:, Pixies Pixies Pixies.

If it's The Olympia I would doubt it. But of course I could be wrong.

Anyone know when tickets go on sale for this?

A portion of the sales have to go through box office rather than through the net right? Presumably queueing outside a ticket vending office may be more successful than on the net? I never get tickets to the good shows in small venues online.

does anyone know if sound cellar is doing deposits? and if so... do you need to be a regular? i was a regular... but that was about 15 years ago...

That's just it. I don't know. I mean I can't see a huge queue for this gig and they open the same time as the net does...

Grrr prolly won't be able to afford tickets, pity I'd love to see them again. It was annoying when they supported the Chilli Peppers I seemed to be surrounded by people who hated The Pixies.

Hm... probably skip this. Since they've reformed, have they not been playing most of Doolittle to begin with? Playing all of Bosanova and/or Trompe le Monde... now that would have been something a little different.

I do love Doolittle and they're great live but I've seen Pixies enough times to warrant this a miss, especially if there's going to be little change in the set list from all the reunion shows.

Doesnt say how many tickets per person as far as i can see.

I believe 4 is maximum for this gig. That's what I'm getting my hands on anyway.

It was 4 max for Faith No More so I reckon you're right - it'll probably be 4.

Going to grab me as many as I can like some manner of ticket buying Hungry Hungry Hippo.

Does anyone know who is supporting them.
Ticketmaster mentions both teenage fanclub and Idlewild.

Ticketmaster ripped an older press release of their gig in Edinburgh a few years ago:
Scottish rockers Idlewild and highly celebrated stalwarts of the Scottish music scene Teenage Fanclub, will be supporting The Pixies at Meadow Bank Stadium.

Support probably won't be announced until sometime after the summer.

Only just heard about this now, sort of by accident! Will be hard to get ticket though ugh i really want to go! might try get ones for thursday cos id say they'd be slightly less popular?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,032 ✭✭✭homerun_homer

No doubt it'll be a rubbish Irish band supporting - some MCD favourite. With any luck the band will bring someone decent along with them.

And if I see Glen Ponsard in a box at the gig I will be more annoyed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,559 ✭✭✭✭AnonoBoy

    Catapults FTW!!!!

Remember when Sonic Youth played the Olympia in 1998 and Chicks supported? They got so much abuse they left the stage early. Felt bad for them but really - what the hell were they doing supporting Sonic Youth?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,506 ✭✭✭muletide

well that was easier than I thought. 4 tickets purchased in one minute. Roll on Friday the 2nd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 76 ✭✭theniall

Got 4 standing tickets for Thursday. Id say most went for Friday and thats why it was so easy to get the Thursday ones. Looks like they are both all gone now anyway. I love it when a plan comes together.

:( all gone? damn, no joy at all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭BaZmO*

Easy peasy. Got two for the Friday.

I always find it disconcerting when you get tickets straight away on Ticketmaster for a popular gig. Always think I'm doing something wrong! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,288 ✭✭✭✭Standard Toaster

All gone. That was quick. Was watching the site like a hawk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,044 ✭✭✭Andrew 83

Tried to get 4 standing for Friday at bang on 9, already gone when it came through at just gone 1 minute past. Managed to get two seated for the Thursday.

Que four pages about how Ticketmaster are crap and the world owes people a living as demand far outstripped supply.
