I didn't take many but will get more at the Dartfield swapmeet next month. Hopefully we'll see even more vehicles other than Land Rover and I'll take some pics on the novice route are to prove you don't have to be panel bending lunatic to have fun!

Pics of last weekends Dartfield meet. There was a wide variety of vehicles there inc several landcruisers, 3 Gwagons and a UAZ. Unfortunately I only seem to have photographed Landrovers :o

Our Series 3 doing what it was built for, oldest vehicle there and it went everywhere.

This was 2 foot deeper than last year

We just picked this up for €100, going to need a thousand or more spending on it though. Fairly rare 59 Series 2

Costs going down on the Series 2, just been offered a bulkhead off a 58 one gratis, just needs minor patching :D

Are there any modifications done for an event like this or is it just a matter of making sure the Landy has the right tyres and is well maintained.

No mods and it was on a set of S/H Michelin XCLs, a military tyre.

We tried it in the intermediate heavily wooded areas at Dartfield but they are now so cut up you need a winch to get round so backed out. Hopefully they'll do some work to improve it next spring, if they do, any vehicle should get round, still tight for shineys though.

Extreme areas are for winch equipped, mud tyred vehicles only.

Probably something really obvious but what does this bit mean?
    Thanks Sean.

    Thanks Sean.

Probably refers to vehicles who's owners don't like rubbing up too hard against trees, rocks, bushes etc?

Knew it would be something easy.:o

Yes, intermediate areas at Dartfield are a bit tight. the Novice route is totally open but with plenty of testing terrain.

This is a 160t, 1200BHP surface miner. All 3 will be heading for an Iron Ore mine in the north of Western Australia in the very near future. Will try and get a pic of them when they are loaded on the truck for away. Yard where I am working is near to West Trac, the Cat dealer. The machines there are immense
