Sooo in the shop in this morning some 12ish year old lad, still in primary school went up to me to buy some motor magazine, that had Zoo free with it :\
Right off the bat I was like No, and he pulled all the excues like oh i'm 14 and my ma's only out the door ! She gets it for me all the time and I was just like no sorry.

Was I right to is what I'm wondering :\ on one hand he was on his way to school and he'd have shown EVERYONE that dorty magazine and that'd get him in trouble with teachers, then his ma is called in and then it's traced back to me !

On the other hand he's probably gonna go home and google boobies and whatever he finds on the internet will be ten times worse than what's in Zoo magazine.

    Your opinions ? :)

You should have sold it to him, he's probably just interested in the articles :D

By the way I'm a woman & mens magazines rock. They are hilarious & have taught me what will happen to my arm should I ever swim with sharks.

    zoo isn't porn tbh.

Dude, this kid has the internet, zoo is mild in comparison. :S

You don't know how uptight the parents could be though.

Isn't 12 the average age of a Zoo reader?

OP, that was my son. He's doing a project on Animals in the Zoo. I'll report you to your manager and have you sacked straight away.

Poor lads mind will be warped for life after reading that zoo mag .;)

    Full of adds :pac:

You don't know how uptight the parents could be though.

All the more reason to sell it to him. If his parents are uptight then they would deal better with finding a harmless magazine than the young lad trying to catch a look at his mother/ sister/ aunt/ friend in the bathroom.

Practically? Makes no difference. He'll see tits on page three of The Sun.
Legally? Don't. As someone else said, cover your own ass first.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

No. It's the average age of a Zoo writer.

    1. Legally the OP would have been doing nothing wrong.
    2. He/she would not have sold Zoo to someone, it came free with a motor mag.
    3. The OP didn't know how old the young rascal was, "ish" is not a clearly defined age.

True, but wouldn't be surprised if it still wound up in court. And then it's a real lottery.

well the youngster was in a primary school uniform, so I could put him at least 12.

He's a frustrated young man - let em have it! He could be spending his money on much worse.

    Forget Zoo, Front FTW.
You should have told him to buy that instead.

    Cause he was 12 ? :\
That's actually sexist right there, a 12 year old girl has just as much of a right to be refused a boobie magazine as a 12 year old boy does.

When I was 12, I was reading a whole lot 'worse'.

Seriously, half the movies that come out of Hollywood show more than what you find in Zoo. And if he's ever used the internet, I can guarantee that porn is one of the first things he searched for.

A few pics of semi-naked women is not gonna turn him into a violent sex-crazed rapist.

Of course, you could have just sold him the Motor Magazine.

I started at about 12, but never properly till i was about 14.
I didn't get what it was all about, didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
    And then BAM!!!!

Yeah, this kid is probably looking at way worse on his computer right now.

Don't think it would have done him any harm, but his parents would want someone to blame when they found it - let them blame the internet rather than you.

Jeez the boy was buying a Motor Magazine *that had* Zoon with it free, most likely he may have being buying it for the cars. When I was 12 and in school some kid brought penthouse to school he had robbed of his older brother, naturally we all took a look but eventually got caught. We then got a lecture on Morality and our bodies from........ A Priest FFS:eek: Oh how I cringed being a precocious 12yr old. bertieahern.com now that was the fun back in my day!

Well now it wasn't just a motor magazine.
It was one of those motor/slash magazines, this issue was featuring their new slutty mascots :\

The kid could have been 14 even if he was in primary school, but even if he was 12 I don't think it matter, should have sold it to him. Whether he genuinely wanted it for the motors mag or zoo I don't think it really matters.
I just to dread buying magazines like that when I was younger just in case something like this did happen! Poor kid :pac:

    Theres writing in there?

Well if he was in a primary school uniform you probably did the right thing. If he went into school showing his mates and it was spotted there'd probably be a few angry teachers and parents baying for blood.
"Won't somebody please think of the children?" and all that sh!te...

With that said if it was me I probably would have just sold it to him because I'd just see it as +1 sale and nothing more. If overprotective parents came I'd let them yell at me all they like and just point out to them that it was a motors magazine, and the lads mag just happened to be with it.

I've voted yes.. poor fcuker just needs inspiration. If his parents found it and came back to the shop, I'd tell them that the original magazine is within his age group but didn't realise there was anything extra. I'd also give them a quick chat about how their 'little boy' might be growing up

I'm likely to tell them to cop the fcuk on, he's probably heard you riding since he was at least 8. :)

    Voted Yes.

It seems almost romantically old-fashioned to be worried about a kid looking at rags like that when he's probably more than savvy enough to ferret out far worse on the net.

I voted yes: it's better he gets his jizz on a magazine than all over the keyboard and monitor.

Well that wasnt really what I was getting at but yeah I see your point. I was referring to something a bit more hardcore than boobs. The interweb has some yukky stuff on it that even makes my eyes water.

was it Bob Geldof who went apeshít over what he saw in a girls magazine
it had cheap plastic tat on the front that only very little girls would accept and inside stuff about how to pleasure boys ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,399 ✭✭✭✭r3nu4l

KeyLime Pie, don't you see what you have done? You've ruined the hopes and dreams of that young lad! I bet he woke up this morning thinking, I'm going to get that mag today and I'm going to bring it into school and show all the lads. No longer will I be 'little primary school boy', I'll be little primary school man', 'the legend'. No more bigger kids picking on me, no more cries of 'nerd', I'll be the king of the playground, life is on the up for me!

Then cruel reality smashes down as KeyLime Pie, judge and purveyor of titty magazines refuses to serve him, leaving the boy to walk the lonely road to school, confidence shattered, just another nerd!

    Shame on you!
