What is the most bizarre/surreal thing you can say you have done / experienced ?

Something few others they can say they have done or experienced or had happen to you.

I can say thet I once unwittingly played 10 minutes of a Mauritian 2nd division soccer match wearing a pair of flip flops.

While on honeymoon I wandered up to the local village to take some photos and ended up photographing a football match. I got chatting to the goalkeeper using a strange mix of French and Creole. He seemed to have a disturbingly good knowledge of Irsh soccer !

With about 10 minutes left the captain shouted over for me to come on for him for the last part of the game. I got about 3 touches an fell on my arse twice but it was a laugh.

After the game I asked the keeper what league they were in and he pulled out a newspaper and said "Well here is the premier division and we are here in the second division. I asked if it was a regional league to which he said no, "National". Turns out the guy I replaced used to play up front for the national side in the 80s !

A truly bizarre and surreal experience !

Anyone else do anything that few others can claim to have done ? (even unwittingly)

Had Jean Claude Van Dame walk past me cursing & shouting while i was at UFC 70. Which is strange when your used to seeing these people on the screen, he was ridiciously tanned. He looked liked an umpa lumpa on steroids which was bizzare itself.

I spent a day in Thailand up near the Cambodian border, being driven around in the back of a pickup truck with a barrel of water which we were encouraged to throw at everybody we passed. At lunch time we watched a bit of cockfighting, had a water fight with all the old people inthe village, watched young kids battering each other in a thai boxing contest and then jumped in another pickup and went hunting for more people to throw water at.

They do "new year" so much better than us :)

Modelled for the face and upper torso of a seven metre tall bronze crucifix that was subsequently hung in a Portugese basilica in Fatima which seats 14.000 people, and attended the opening / blessing / consecration of it and being recognised by a Portugese politician as being the guy the enormous Christ was modelled on, and then having tea with a room full of cardinals before being whisked out of a secret underground car park in a black mercedes with tinted windows driven by a priest off to our 5 star hotel in Lisbon (paid for by the vatican) where we ended up having drinks with a leading irish politician and a hip hop radio dj from new york.

Ah here, I want one of these fancy explanations :P

Also please note, I'm not disputing anything you say as I don't know you but you must see how it comes across :)

And Gummy - I couldn't imagine it's because people dislike him, no reason for that, it's more most just don't believe him.

To be honest, a pretty boring one.
5 minutes of rushing around and then over an hour of standing around/sitting on my ass! :D

Seems to be that Biggins custom title thing above his avatar is very, very wrong.

Went to an AIB interview in the Burlington Hotel in the last '90s. Bizarre thing was it was all plainclothes cops interviewing me and asking personal questions. Never found out what was going on.

Probably a high profile person about to check in and they were doing security background checks. Normal to be honest in that situation.

Can I've an explanation too? :D

Must admit, after reading lots of Biggin's posts I'm quite intrigued too.
I for one don't believe he's full of it - I believe ya baby.
Perhaps we should have poll thread for 'Who/What is Biggins'.

    My suggestions would be.
    1. Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery
    2. Chuck Norris's Trainer / Sensei
    3. Some deranged lunatic who has escaped from a mental institute. :)
    4. The Viper
