Operation Dib Dib Dib - FAO of Kayroo

As many of you know, tonight we ran a private tournament on Pokerstars in aid of the scouts. Kayroo was looking for a fundraiser so we set-up a $20 STT on stars and we had 28 takers. Because people were giving up their time, the small rule we put in place was that the people that finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd could keep $40 and ship the rest back.

Thr prize pool was $560, minus the $120 leaves $440 for the Kayroo project. I also received a very generous donation of $150 from Semibluff, so the total raised was $590.

The €€€ equivalent to this is €445.

Trippie offered to use his account for the transfer of funds so everyone who cashes is shipping the cash across to his account and, on behalf of the lads on the poker forum, he'll give Kayroo the money raised next time he sees him.

The tournament started at 8.30 irish tim tonight and is still going on as we speak. It started with the following 28 players..

White Knight, Oleras, KevK, Damo72, ArmaniJeanss, ocallagh, Hoki, Smoothcall, 5starpool, Trippie, Gillybean72, Strewelpeter, Jayminator, Killme00, Macspower, Digiman, tmck?, Cooker3, Flushdraw, Lazare, Rx8, TommyGunne, ElectraBlue, BigCityBanker, Smurph, Conbro, Roadsweeper, HectorJelly

Myself and Gillian sent Pms to over 100 boardsies. We will have missed a lot of people, so apologies for anyone that would have liked to contribute but didnt get a chance to play. If anyone would still like to contribute, you can transfer $20 to Trippie01 on stars and that will go towards a good cause and help to give some disadvantaged kids a chance to continue with the scouts.

Thanks to ocallagh for originally suggesting the idea. Thanks to Gillybean72 for expanding the idea and taking it further, and for also sending out PMs and helping with the while organising of the event. Thanks to Trippie for allowing us to use his account for holding funds, and thanks to all the guys at boards for taking part.

We started the final table about 9.30 and its still ongoing. The FT looked like this so if anyone wants to rail teh conclusion, its tournie ID 158239591

As a Scout leader I spend a lot of time around people who regularly volunteer as a matter of course but every time I think I've seen the limit of people's ability to look beyond their own needs and help others I am surprised again and again.

    Thank you all so much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,234 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

Would of loved to make this Keith, not a whole lot of net access over here,
so throw the 50euro you owe me into the kitty :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,187 ✭✭✭Flushdraw

    Hi JP,

Unfortunetly i wont be at the masters. Its my little girls communion the following week, and we've a lot of prep to do for the party when i'm up in Letterkenny at the weekend. Lots of people staying over so we need to redecorate and clean the house from top to bottom...fun!

People can still use Trippie01 on stars to transfer money until the end of today/maybe tomorrow. Hopefully anyone else that does not have a stars account, can get the money to Keith by some other means.

Based on this thread, we have/will have raised a total of..

    private tournie $560
    Semibluff $150
    Doc Farrell $20
    nicnicnic $22
    rag2gar $20
    Rasta $30
    Yuletired $20
    ionapaul $20
    JP Poker €50
    Mellor €50

$842 in Trippie's account which is €634, plus JP and Mellor makes a total of €734...wp everyone

Good game last night (well done to FD and Gilly for setting it up!) lost getting all aggro raising/re-raising/shoving pre-flop with QQ into Gilly's AA... in my defence, I was only a break (dealing in the Crowne Plaza) and Stephen let me used the laptop... so only had 20 mins to donk my chips in style! :D

WD to Kayroo and his Cubs: the real 'winner'! Now... There is a condition attached to this: Tippie cannot withdraw the funds until Kayroo posts a picture of himself in his scoutmaster uniform! :D

(We girls lurve seeing men in uniform :pac:)

On a separate note: I'm playing the 100 game in Plaza today and I've already promised 20% of myself to the fund! (Ahem! Well I am gonna try...)

I was too late for this and I don't have any money on Stars, I'll give you 20 quid next time I see you Keith, make sure you tap me up for it if I forget. This is on the condition that you're not wearing that uniform whenever that is...

Seat 7 (2 seats to the right of the QQ guy) on the table you bust out on (Black Hoody + pony tail).
