I think there is better value in the race with Giolla De @ 16/1.
He was with F Flood when in ireland and run some good races.
This is his second stable since he went to England so I think he will run well.

Cant see it myself. Hes a 10yr old with 2 wins from 39 attempts and he is now trained by a Farmer............. I would need a lot more than 16 to back that one. And he hasnt won for 3 years.

The 7lb penalty was just too much for that one.

Yeah, it was the hardest race of the day as well and the winner was well supported late on.

Thats why I put a ? after the two (they were shortened on PP) You had an effect on the market as Soccerjackpot jumped on the most bet market on RP

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 4,210 ✭✭✭argosy2006

well atleast there 3 well backed, so one might win,
mon - fri due a winner
, got good prices on first two,
jaroslaw was down to 10-1 from 16s on boylesports, there so quick off the mark, is there anyway to beat em to it

DIDDUMS IS 300-1 in 8.50 and has won twice came second twice and third one out of 18 starts and came 4th in a grade two in Aug,
    thats 60-1 price for a 2nd or 3rd place,

Diddums is a 65 rated horse up against 90+ so unlikely to trouble the judge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,135 ✭✭✭POINTBREAK

According the the Racing Post Jaroslaw is rated 97, but the horse has only ever run in South Africa so I have no idea how the BHB could give him that mark. Even if it is right he has to give 1lb to the favourite who is rated 7lb superior making him 8lb wrong....... I suppose the thinking must be that he did get within 4 lengths of JJ The Jet Plane and JJ is rated 118 so if he reproduced that form he would win this easily, but JJ was eased in that race and Jaroslaw was well beaten in a 4k handicap after that.

Dashing George in the 1.35 Clonmel 10/3

Decent price but risky with the standard of Jokeys there..

Massive drifter out to 22/1 and finished 4th. It must be significant when a horse can drift like that with all the Pricewise support behind it.....

    Update

It really is blowing a gale and clerk of the course Andrew Morris reports they have recorded winds up to 30mph this week. He expects jockeys might report it hard going with plenty of moisture under what is a crust on top and after they open it up it could be riding good to soft rather than good.

Ran well and only just beaten, couldnt concede the 22lb to the fav.

no excuses there with the mistakes he winner (favourite) made throughout.

I though he ran well considering the favourite is due to go up 22lb in the ratings making them about equal in ability. It was the mistakes by the fav that allowed him to get within half a lenght but they finished 15l clear of the 3rd. It near impossible for a horse to give the weight to one who is the same level.

Friday already. Hopefully Matt can come up with one to break the string of losers for the weekday gang.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,135 ✭✭✭POINTBREAK

    Heres something to think about.......
Mistress to no one…. Advised at 6/1 beaten at 7/1
    Jaroslaw…………… Advised at 16/1 beaten at 22/1
Far More Serious…...Advised at 5/1 beaten at 5/1?
    Mister Watzisname 11/2 - 9/2 Beaten
These are from the Mon/Friday gang. Segals horses are always shorter, win or lose but the other guys tips seem to get beaten when they are layed late on. That must mean something.
I think I need to start keeping a record of what happens to the drifters.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 4,210 ✭✭✭argosy2006

Mister Watzisname 2.50 i got 11-2 ,now 4-1 , hope thats de one,?

6.2 and 6.4 on Betfair and doesnt look like shortening at the minute.

12.25 ......6.6 and 6.8 more layers than backers.

1.44 Steady at 6.4 and 6.6......... its doesnt look like it will be a big drifter at the minute.
