I like Dubawi Heights as a wee EW punt in the 2:15 sparks can fly when theses 2 get together and this is not the worst of an animal,,,, when firing it can show well I just have a feeling the time may be now but its a tough race,,, another reason why I would pick one of the outsiders to much talking about alot of horses in this race.

    its about 33/1

5.20 salisbury seems to be obvious even though the odds are usually bigger - king of windsor 2/1 now 7/4ish

that 1.45 at york is some headache though cant believe they went for that along with pricewise a few horses being backed

First, I wanted to say a big thanks to Mike for getting this thread up and running. I joined just a few weeks ago and feel I've made a small profit (haven't separated the figures from my normal betting log as yet) but now that I'm back at work and can't access betting sites I'm giving up. On the plus side, I can always say I've done what only very few punters can claim: effectively I'm quitting while I'm ahead. I feel I've been very lucky this week. I've missed most of the bets and they've all been losers. It's been the only good luck in a week in which my big bets have either been beaten in a photo, come stone last or lost out on the places by narrow margins. Factor in the Gallas deflection and the Caldwell OG and it was a very abd week indeed!

Keep up the good work, Mike, don't let the detractors discourage you and may the profits keep coming.

Cheers, esp given how the wins have dried up lately :)

well I am of the same strain of taught, I do my own bets which have kept me ahead but I have lost most of my winnings backing these horses,

I think if you were to put up your own fancies Mike it would be more real,

I wont be backing any more of them, I think even if you do get into profit by the end of the year it will be a small one,
once again thanks Mike for the time you have put into keeping us updated but I do think I would value your personal opinion more.

Then the thread would have to change its name to Mike's personal opinion money making thread !

and you are missing the point of the thread, it not my opinion that matters. These are blind bets following a set of tipsters in a publication. Thats all.

    wtf?

Mike and others are putting tips up from the RP every day. If you don't want to bet on them fine, but don't come on here moaning about them not winning.

I suppose all this reaction and doubt comes up when on a bad run
I just wonder if a monthly profit/loss was posted would it stop the cribbing as it would be very easy to let people make up their own mind rather than slagging off the mammy mike

it was not moaning, I dont mind you having a go at my post but dont turn your tirade on to me,
I'm sure that not everything posted on any forum has to be positive, I was expressing what I taught of the tipsters nothing else,
as I have said best of luck to Mike and anyone else who is trying to win a few bob including you.

Here are the numbers from RP e-mail newsletter

    July 8 - Aug 8

    Number of bets/runners 62,
    successful bets 9,
    points invested 71,
    return 110.56,
    points profit 39.56,
    Return on Investment 55.7%,
    strike rate 14.5%

Poor enough as you can see.

If this thread was only about making profit then shorter priced tips should be posted, all the tips seemed to be long shots, and if u looked at the form of the horses tipped this week you would find it hard to believe any had a chance of ever winning, its hard to understand why someone picked these horses,
even 5.20 Salisbury King Of Windsor failed, and i think it was only tipped to get win on de table this week,
Not blaming Mike,, he only posts the tips, and does great job of it,
i,m just thinking if its about making profit then 2-1 shots or 4-5 shots would turn more profit over time, and races with 4-8 horses are easier to predict, most of the tipped horses are in big fields where a bad start or stumble or getting blocked ends any chance of winning,
BUT OF COURSE I WASN'T COMPLAINING WHEN THE TIPS WERE WINNING!
