Hell..I've stopped listening to the news now at this stage or reading papers.
I just get so pissed at what those bastards are milking from this country and attempting to justify it.
The latest now is the 2 cvnts Martin & Hanafin pocketing 3 pensions when they retire.

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/ministers-on-8364140000-in-triple-pension-deal-1720661.html

Then I head Cowen saying "that Ireland's response had been "unprecedented in its breadth, its speed and its force".

"I firmly believe history will show that we were among the first countries to recognise the scale of the crisis and to put in place a comprehensive framework for recovery," he said.

Now I want everyone who vote FF in the last election to find a gun somewhere...do us all a favour and blow your low level of brain cells out of your head.

You really don't get it! These ministers are the most competent in the world and are naturally being paid accordingly. We will be getting out of the mess a few short minutes before the next General Election, the country will again be awash with money and we will again be the envy of Europe.

Vote Fianna Fail/Green - vote early and often.

    That's the problem.
My workmate is being made redundant next month.
He's being screwed in taxes etc and he has stated that he will vote FF in the next election even though he's been bitching like fcuk about them.
He says his local TD has done a lot for his family.

It's bull**** like this that is getting these people back into power.
People are taking the short term view and how it affects them rather than how it affects the country in the future.
TDs then are more concerned then with their constituents rather than joe soap in another county.

If they manage to cling on to power until the next general election they'll be laughing. They will hand out a few sweeteners and we'll all vote them in again like dopes.

It will be really frightening if they get back in in the next general election after all they have done. I wouldn't bet against it either.

I really hope they get a butchering on the 5th of june.

    Did you vote?
Sure it was going to get messy? But the warning signs were in place for the place 5 years but people ignored them, TD's ignored them and Bertie wished these people would die.
Whatever about the people ignoring them but Government should have been putting plans into place to deal with this crisis. What we have now is a series of half assed measures that Joe Soap can come up with in the pub while on the lash.

Have to agree --we are being asked to swallow **** from these FF muppets on a daily basis. The thing that really annoys me is none of them can mention the recession without the word global, it is like the serial national policies and decisions have had little impact on the current situation. They would have us believe it is solely because of freddie mae and mac across the water--nonsense. Yes their is an international component, but economists have being warning for years of the unsustainable nature of the property bubble. this government is out of control, their is no confidence in it. Mary coughlan on a trade mission--would you send your business her way???
She is so out of her depth, she will get the bends if she comes up to reality.
The most unfortunate thing about all this, is that fine gael cant capitilise on this===I mean i would love to support them such is my level of discontent with the current bunch, but ENDA KENNY--come on are you serious??? The man always reminds me of the thunderbirds with his rigid movements and mannerisms, and pre rehersed speeches.
evoting, section 23, Anglo Irish, Bertie Aherne, Mary Harney, property prices....a bad dream!!--a nightmare.

Yep...If FG actually bit the bullet and got rid of Enda then their ratings would shoot up. At this stage Enda's a liability.

As long as idiots keep electing these pocket lining scum, we, the vast majority will be made to cough up for their lavish wages and lifestyles.

I find it absolutely disgusting that for example The Crumlin Children's hospital in Dublin has been told to cut way down on essential operations on kids because of cost cutting - yet the scum in the Dail are still giving themselves huge wages bonuses on top of their triple pensions, expenses and perks.

If this country is not going to have a revolt - then at least by fcuk, it sure needs one!

Anyone that votes for these money grabbing scum now or in the future must be as thick, blind or stupid as a farmers animal ass.

But how do we know that they can't do better? Because FF said so?

Just by judging what they propose, which is by and large worse in terms of taxation. Taxing your way out of a recession doesn't make sense to me.
Let's give FF/Labour a chance and see how they do.
It's like this...they can't do worse than FF if they tried their best.

You're probably right, and it'll almost certainly happen. However, I don't expect much from the opposition, and I wouldn't be so militant about blaming FF voters for the present mess. It's a sign of the times. Rampant capitalism and the way society has gone means we all lube up and bend over! ;)

They really need to try and find a way to put a stop to career politicians. At the moment their only out to save their own careers and are just incapable of looking out for the best interests of the country.

You may argue that you'd be kicking out experienced politicians to replace them with inexperienced people that don't understand the bigger picture but it's not like the current lot have to do any course to become a politician, maybe they should be required to do something along those lines.

Self serving politicians are the downfall of democracy.

yes as proposals are what you put forward, so opposition can put them forward now and FF vote them down and scavenge them for themselves or wait till their in power or wait till the public get on with them selves and stop supporitng FF in government, if your not prepared to vote agaisnt them you have little right to complain about them.

Im sorry for you but no political party is going to draught a ream of private members bills to have them shot down and stolen by FF because you feel safer with FF.

How can they propose policy when even the Government dont know the extent of the problem.

I believe that the poison chalice left by Fianna F A I L when they are expelled from office will be a massive challenge but honesty and a hard working ethic (something fianna fail dont have) should be enough to get a start on the problems.

Pretty much sums it up for me. There are good people out there in politics(yes even in FF:eek:), but the system itself is screwed and the electorate haven't exactly been the sharpest either. Look at someone like martin cullen. Every single portfolio he's touched has been a disaster, yet his constituents keep him in by a huge majority. Why do we have or need a seanad? Utter waste of time. Why do we continue to spend millions of pointless tribunals that get us nowhere? Our media is hobbled and controlled to a scary degree. The amount of off the record stuff that will never see the printed page or the TV is scary. Slap it up on the web and the hoster could get it in the neck. Free speech simply doesn't exist here and I have a little giggle when posters on boards claim it as a right. The local counsels are hotbeds of corruption on all sides of the political spectrum too(have seen it up close).

FF? Clearly useless and need little introduction.
FG? Ineffectual and seem to be only any good at whining and reacting to FF. I read a poster here a while back describe Kenny as statemanslike. Oh. My. God. If that's how you define.... Jesus. Farmers wives love him. That's about it.
Greens? Don't make me laugh. No really. Don't. Gormless and his u turn loving cronies are a waste of air.
Labour? Have their moments in outlining policy ideas, but mark my words if they get in will show how useless they are in implementing same policies. Great at apportioning funds, but useless at raising the funds in the first place. Common problem with the left in general.
Sinn Fein? Really don't make me laugh, cos I'll cry. Their economic policies are sidesplitting and scary at the same time. Well they are marxists at the core but have u turned a fair bit there too.
Independents? Doesn't matter how good they are, they're a waste of a vote as they'll never have any power.

TBH, I have exercised my right to vote since I turned 18 20 odd years ago. In every election, local and national, every referendum too. This time? I couldn't be arsed. I really couldn't. So I won't.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

That's pretty much been my attitude for the last election or two. This vote-for-the-sake-of-voting bull**** is bollox. Give me a candidate worth voting for and I will vote for him. Give me a shower of corrupt wannabes and I will stay at home.

If people died for my right to vote, then people died for me right to abstain, too. And I DO have the right to moan because I did NOT vote for Fianna Fail.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Politics simply doesn't work. No politician is truly qualified to hold the position they do.

The type of people who put themselves forward as a politician are generally "cute hoors", and there primary talent is in winning popularity contests.

I have local politicians coming to my door and from there demeanor, the why they speak, and the way try to coax my vote I honestly feel far more intelligent than them.

I think our country should be run like an open source software project. Instead of having people elected from a pool of cute hoors to run the country, anyone can chip in with a solution to any given problem / task.

All affairs of the state would be open and completely transparent, and you would create a situation where the brightest and most logical solutions would win out every time, free of bias.

The one (current) fact that annoys me about TD's is: there are 166 TD's, 14 of them decided to take a voluntary reduction in their pay, well actually 12, 2 chicked out. This shows REAL leadership in the current climate, doesn't it. Please state this fact to every TD that approaches your door this election time !!

    edit:
    From the independent.ie:
"The original 14 TDs include the following 11: Enda Kenny, Richard Bruton, Kieran O'Donnell, Leo Varadkar, Simon Coveney, Joe Carey, Michael D'Arcy, Frankie Feighan, Jimmy Deenihan, Denis Naughten (all Fine Gael), and Independent Finian McGrath. All these FG members took a 5 per cent reduction in pay. Six Seanad members, including Sunday Independent columnist Eoghan Harris and FG's Eugene Regan and Frances Fitzgerald, have also taken voluntary cuts"

    What do you expect...

Ireland's a young country in terms of independence..
Where a nation who tried to run before we could walk everything had to happen now quickly....

thats the bigist problem we ran so fast that now most of the country is walking where all ****ing our selves....

If we had climbed slower more progressively and had a little bit of vision things would be so bad.... But of course we had that lieing sack of excrament in power feeding us lie after lie...

perfect example the m50 2 laned moter way with junctions that wher ebadly planned and again lacked vision, How so well its just had a new red cow junction put in place and all lanes widened.... again lacking vision

For a country to be sucessfull, It needs a leader who see's that and understands that...

The problem is fianna fail don't have vision they have this primary school teacher/head master attitude, oh you must do this and that...
They fail so radicaly at there ideas because of this.... Vision is
    as important as decision making...

But this could be stereo typed to the main population in case's weve got a
poor education system where the teacher teachs and kids want to learn..

Yet we have a man who where a creased suit jacket odd socks and genrally incapable of running a macy d franchise which is a fact...
    Biffo step down

I think we need to cut pay and pensions of TDs down to the average income for the country at whatever it happens to be that year - that way, we wont have greedy shítes coming into power to line their own pockets, and we might actually get somebody whos working for the country and not for themselves.
