Biphobia is a term used to describe fear of and aversion toward bisexuality and bisexuals as a social group or as individuals. People of any sexual orientation can experience such feelings of fear and aversion. A source of discrimination against bisexuals, biphobia is based on negative bisexual stereotypes and bisexual erasure.

I just find it very odd that the boom in bisexual activity came about a few months after the release of windows 95

I can't think why that is.

Watching gay and/or lesbain porn when you got your first internet connection does not really count as a perceived increase in bisexual activity

Also they wont find a single cause of homosexuality because there is no cause. We all have different sexualities, all of us!. It's like your personality it is unique and intrinsic to you.

Dead right. Everyone is different sexually.

I think this quote from ntlbell isolates the poster's simplistic and naive views on human sexual interactions and relationships:

    "course it's broken:rolleyes:

the penis goes into the vagina

like the kinder garden cop twins

boys have a penis, girls have a vagina..."

So naive. People achieve sexual gratification through an unimaginable myriad of physical and mental stimuli. Every single person on this planet each has their own individual quirks when it comes to sex. Some people like toys, some anal, oral, bondage, torture, beastiality; heck, there are straight people who prefer to crap on each other than have the traditional penis into vagina sex. Should we be searching for cures for all of these things aswell? Some of them are even more off-putting to most of society than homosexuality.

Easy to tell ye've never had the pleasure of this animal in the sack.

the above is all true, but there's a slight problem

I'm not sure what the sex ed was like in your school

but as far as I'm aware and it very well could be my naivety you can't reproduce by taken a dump on someone's face, clattering the arse off someone with a whip. or any other such nonsense.

Nice insight into your weekends tho, sounds like your having a ball

So because a sexual activity/preference does not lead to reproduction it is invalid or unnatural? I take it you would say no if anyone should anyone ever offer to give you head then? There is 1 form of sexual contact which can lead to reproduction, and literally hundreds that don't, hardly reasonable to refer to them as nonsense

the fact you would only be attracted to another making it impossible for the two of you to reproduce would seem unnatural no?

Back to reproduction eh? You can't separate that from sexual gratification and that is why you do not understand this subject. The fact is that some people will develop, for whatever reason, methods for achieving sexual gratification that is not conducive to reproduction. As I pointed out, and as can easily be seen by observing human sexual behaviors, these methods are often adopted or fabricated by people who are heterosexual.

Your attempt at humor was desperate

I thought the aul penis and vagina had a strong grounding in reproduction so when talking about them yes, it's back to "what they're designed for"

no humor was attempted just pointing out your pointless argument.

So infertile people or old people being attracted to other people is unnatural too?

You still cannot separate it, I'm starting to think you might be a simple at this stage. Don't try clawing back from your shyte joke either. "Know what you do with you wknds!" ha ha im funny. Thats lame mate.

My argument is not pointless either, it is crushing yours right now. For example, my mouth is designed for eating and communicating mostly. Yet, I like to whistle. Why do I do this? It is not eating, it is not communicating, I just do it for fun.

Now precious; people do things with their reproductive organs that are just for fun. Understand?

Sexual attraction by design to increase the chance of reproduction.

the fact that her reproduction system is "broke" is not relevant to my animal instict.

not sure where your going on old people

people can do things with their reproductive organs for fun, correct.

    gay's CANNOT reproduce

    see the difference?

Wrong again. Gay people are perfectly able to reproduce. THE POINT is that certain people have developed and adopted, again for whatever reason, sexual methods and practices that are not conducive to sexual reproduction. I feel I must reiterate that these methods have been adopted and are preferred by some people who only engage in sexual behavior with members of the opposite sex.

So there is no difference. Gay people can reproduce but they are unlikely to do so because of their sexual preferences; the same can be true for straight people. It is like your personality, everyone is a little bit different. There is nothing that needs to be cured.

Nothing wrong with people who are gay.

One can only laugh at religion interfering where they don't belong because it is always going to happen/ Most people just ignore them.

I'm curious to see how religion does interfere where it doesn't belong. The main objection here for the most part is that in Christianity, Judaism and Islam, homosexual relations are seen to be morally wrong. That's a part of their belief system, it gets blown out of proportion completely, and people tend to focus on this a lot more than other moral rulings in the Biblical text, which I think is highly unfortunate.

Anyhow. The idea in Christianity is, that we don't expect for non-Christians to follow the Biblical rulings. We believe that God's authority is ultimately binding on all, but it is only through faith in Christ that people are likely to accept God's rulings. That's my view on it anyway, given what Paul advocates concerning judgement on sexual immorality in the church:
God will judge those outside. ‘Drive out the wicked person from among you.’

I think it isn't so much the case that religion interferes (infact we aren't meant to deal with anything external to the church), but rather that people ask Christians what they think about the subject, and then they get offended, and deem that it is "interfering". Interestingly the following is mentioned on the first page of this thread:
    wudangclan wrote: »
perhaps the same therapies could be used to make these religious types more tolerant

However, I am increasingly seeing that the "tolerance" that people promote, doesn't work two ways, rather it works one way. It's more "hold my views on this subject, and I'll tolerate you", rather than an equal sharing of ideas and beliefs on the subject.
