    Gold Standard; Shelton Benjamin

    SheltonBenjaminPicture.jpg

I believe this man will be really, really big one day. If he can find some charisma (perhaps a manager is neeeded ;)) then he'll be a fully rounded Superstar. But that wont hinder him on my show, the likes on Hart and Benoit weren't great on the mic and SB has technical brilliance that could very soon. match those two IMO.

okay here is a first for the draft, thought id try this later but its too good a value pick to let go any later so my 4th round draft is the first inter-gender tag team drafted and is Trish Stratus & Carlito Colon

    from wiki
Stratus returned to the ring on June 26 and started a romantic angle with Carlito after he saved her from a double team attack by Melina and Johnny Nitro.[70] They competed as a team and won a mixed tag team match against Melina and Nitro at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 15.[71] As a couple, Stratus and Carlito briefly feuded with WWE Champion Edge and Lita after the pair interrupted Stratus' title match with Mickie James. The two couples competed in several tag team matches, with Stratus and Carlito jobbing to Edge and Lita each time
    Trish-Stratus-0086.jpg
she was a one-time WWE Hardcore Champion, three-time "WWE Babe of the Year" and was proclaimed "Diva of the Decade". After nearly seven years in the business, Stratus retired from wrestling on September 17, 2006 after winning her seventh WWE Women's Championship, the most in WWE history

"I'll open a can of the ass whip!"

    glamarella.jpg

In previous rounds I've looked to pick people who will captivate an audience and keep people entertained, and in looking to continue that vein I am going to choose two people who I feel are real positives in what is now a negative period in wrestling. Yes folks my fourth round pick is going to be the most dysfunctional team around, Glamarella!

    Santino

I would class Santino Marella as the most entertaining character of recent years. While he may be limited in what he can do in the ring, without a doubt he is gold on the mic and one of the most entertaining figures the WWE has had lately. The Wrestling Observer awarded him the accolade of best gimmick for the past two years and he's someone that I know will put smiles on the faces of my audience.

Here is one of my favourite moments of Santino where he does his best Amy Winehouse impression...

    Beth Phoenix

The beautiful Beth will prove a very useful addition to my roster. She impressed me a lot when she came to the WWE as she can clearly go in the ring. I think it's fair to say she has a good career ahead of herself assuming she stays free of injuries, and her on-screen relationship with Santino has helped raise her profile. Also she's quite easy on the eyes!

    0000273706-54102L.jpg

I like the idea of having the potential to use The Rock and Santino in some funny segments as well as playing Santino off of the very serious Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and the massive Big Show. Beth Phoenix will also prove useful in this regard and hopefully when I get some more females down the line I can come up with some good storylines. I think there's a lot of room for being creative here and I think therefore I've a good value pick here.

    MNG roster

    Round 1 pick: The Rock
Round 2 pick: Jake 'The Snake' Roberts
Round 3 pick: The Big Show
Round 4 pick: Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix

    Molly Holly and Gail Kim

    imageandvideohostingbyt.jpg

Two of the best women wrestlers available in this draft, they tagged for a number of months in late 2003 until Gail got injured: www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/g/gail-kim.html When Gail returned, they went back to tagging

The highlight of Gail's career was as the centrepiece of the Knockouts division in TNA. With her as champion, her matches were regularly the most watched segments on Impact and she was involved in some good angles and some great matches. I don't think that it's any coincidence that TNA's womens division pretty much fell apart after Gail left

Molly is widely recognised as one of the best women to wrestle in WWE. I think that she had to have something special about her to succeed in that company, because she never looked like the typical diva, and that something was her in-ring skills. She left the business of her own accord, probably at the peak of her talent

I'm very pleased with this pick as it gives me a completely new, unique and talented side to my roster

    “The Chosen One”

Jeff Jarrett is my chosen one for round 4 of the draft. Having wrestled against some of the greatest wrestlers in the world in various wrestling organisations, his accomplishments pretty much speak for themselves. Charismatic in the ring and great worker on the mic, Double J is one of the few wrestlers who visualizes his entire match beforehand, he fits well into my growing roster.

My fourth round pick is The Rock n' Roll Express of Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson.

    autorocknrollcolor2.jpg

The Rock N Roll Express are without doubt one of bthe finest tag teams of all time and i'm shocked that they're still available.

The Rock N Roll Express tagged througghout the 80's with massive success as a pure babface team. Their gimmick was as a pair of high-flying lovers of Glam Rock music. These guys were years ahead of their time. Without them to set the precedent for smaller workers working a high flying gimmick, there would be no Rockers, no Hardy boys no Briscoe Brothers in years to follow. They were true innovators and when they came along in the 80's they took the wrestlking world by storm.

The entire formula of babyface getting worked over, only to make a hot tag and pop the crowd with a big comeback, used in tag matches to this very day can be traced back to the style innovated and developed by these fellas. No one in the history of professional wrestling has played the sympathetic face as well as Ricky Morton. He basically invented and made his own the role of babyface in peril that forms a part of every tag team match up. The quality of his selling, his size and good looks and his ability to tease a tag in built the suspense in his matches perfectly. Furthermore, even in victory they always made their opponents look incredible, a quality thats essential in building a roster. And Robert Gibson ws an incredible guy to have to make a hot tag and his sunset flips, which were rarely seem in the 80's were legendary. Their innovative double dropkick finisher was again something that fans at the time would never have seen before.

As a singles guy Morton was great and he had a legendary feud with Flair that drew gret money around the territories.

To summarise I have chosen not only one of the greatest teams ever, but a team that defined and shaped tag team wrestling as it is today.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9vKhUTwJok

    Great litle video above.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHrmG4PMGjw&feature=PlayList&p=ECCFF38AD891F99D&index=0&playnext=1
And a very rare match up here showing the RnR Express classic formula down to a tee.

    Picks:
    Round 1. Eddie Guerrero
    Round 2. Ricky Steamboat
    Round 3. Fabulous Freebirds
Round 4. Rock N Roll Express

Everyone is going to the far east to secure their technical masters but I think I'll head down south and go for a man who's won wrestler of the year and best box office draw in the Wrestling Observer newsletter awards and had a tryout with the WWE in Febuary of 2007.Source http://www.onlineworldofwrestling.com/profiles/m/mistico.html

    Mistico

This guy is straight up amazing and both TNA and the WWE want him but are unable to come to terms with CMLL. He's not just a critical success but a commercial one too as seen by his wrestler of the year award and a top 3 placing in PWIs best wrestlers of 2007. .He a great pick because not only is he a top class technico and draw but he allows me to book incredibly important matches without using a title (Mask vs. hair/mask which mean more than belts in Mexico) and Luchadores have not been at a premium in this draft. Also given the success of Rey and the massive mexican demographic in the U.S. and the lack of mainstream success Japanese wrestlers have had there he's more valuable to an American company.

Here's a montage of some of his best work and his NJPW debut

    Roster so far:
    Hulk Hogan
    Ultimate Warrior
    Scott Hall
    1-2-3 Kid/ X-Pac

My fifth round pick is the Genetic Jackhammer, the Higher Power, the Boss himself Mr. McMahon!
    vince-mcmahon.jpg

I've cleared this with Minto, in fact he would've chosen him himself only I was too quick

The on-screen character mr. McMahon has legitimate claims to being one of the greatest heel characters in the history of professional wrestling. Ever since the real-life Montreal screw-job he has been hate figure for wrestling fans all over the world.

Its no secret that Vince McMahon wanted to be a professional wrestler as a young man amd that the Million Dollar Man perosona was based around his own character. In reality he has surpassed nearly all but a select few in gaining heat and provoking reactions amongst audiences. People pay money to see this guy get his ass handed to him on a regular basis. If a babyface wants to be pushed into the stratosphere and msde a Superstar overnight, all he has to do is be booked in a programme with this guy. There's no way Stone cold Steve Austin would have achieved the success he did without Mr McMahon to play off. he drew millions of dollars from ordinary everyday people who lived vicariously through Ausitnb as they watched him do what they always wanted to do and kick his bosses ass! Any babyface I choose to put in a programme can be propelled from the mid-card to a money drawing Main Eventer overnight.

In terms of on-screen portrayal of a heel, Vince is second to none. His facial expressions are immense. The over the top walk is classic hyperbolic heelishness. The catchphrases such as "You're fired" and stunts like the "Kiss my Ass Club" are so easy to book its a pleasure.

In the ring as well, hes no slouch. He has had fanbtastic brawls with every Main Eventer over the past few years including a surprisingly great match against Hogan (his facials were just immense in that one), HHH, HBK, 'Taker, Flair to name but a few.

Such a well developed, universally recognisable and downright brilliant character is a massive asset to me and I'm chuffed to have got him!

Classic McMahon heeling it up to the last here on Foley!
