Dweezil Zappa was recently cleaning house and I had the amazing good fortune to be able to acquire two of his guitars. He also through in some really cool picks going back to the '80s (Warren DeMartini, Edward Van Halen and of course his very own).

This is a Neal Moser made strat. It was originally in the video Vanity (from the Confessions album) and it had a completely different paint job. Originally entitled 'Easter Van Halen' for it's purple and gold EVH stripes. Dweezil later painted this 'audacious' gold. The pictures don't do this justice. This is an amazing guitar with the most incredible gold paint job you could ever imagine.

    Gold.jpg

This is the neck of the gold Moser strat. This is one of Dweezil's guitar picks going back to the early 90s.

    GoldPick.jpg

Just look at that paint job !! This is the back of the guitar where Dweezil added the little note 'Tommy Q - This belongs to you !' along with his signature.

    GoldSignature.jpg

This is a 1986 San Dimas Charvel. This was Dweezil's back-up to his signature Charvel which featured on his first album "Havin' a Bad Day". This album was released when he was 16 years old. It has rarely been played and is in mint condition.

    Green.jpg

This is the back of the headstock where Dweezil autographed the Green Charvel.

What more needs to be said ?? lol My face hurts from smiling every time that I read this. Thank you Dweezil !!

    Got a bow, been playing this a lot lately;

Great fun, and I'm getting decent at it, but it's got a really narrow range. Might look for a fatter saw.

Bought this Yamaha MS311 from our own Fingers McGinty a while back. It's since been treated to a new set of Lollar pickups, pots and switch are about to be upgraded too. Cracking little guitar!
The cameras broke, phone pics I'm afraid!

I've recently changed my life

    pedals-3.jpg

    ampinterface.jpg

    laptopkontrol.jpg

    fcb1010.jpg

Guitar goes through my usual pedal board into my amp, and my new audio interface (the rack thing on top of my amp) is in my amp's effect loop, so my laptop is processing the signal after the preamp. I'm using Ableton mostly, but also a bit of Pure Data, to build effect chains, and I've never had more fun or gotten more exciting sounds from my guitar.

Ableton also allows me to record as many loops as I like and then play them back, which can get really amazing. 8 part guitar orchestra on the fly? Plz :P

The Behringer pedal is just a MIDI controller so I can control my computer while still playing the guitar. If I can free a hand up, the Korg NanoKontrol next to my laptop is handy for controlling effect parameters.

I rearranged everything and it's way more tidy and together now. Programmed the FCB1010 this afternoon too, this is the most fun ever :D

    pedals29611.jpg

    laptopamp29611.jpg

So now I get to spend the evening making Ableton files for all the band songs that need them (I don't want to put my laptop into every song we have, that would end up being silly, but there are loads of ideas for sounds I have that suit computer guitar perfectly), which is great 'cause, while I'm just replacing some pedals with computer programs, a lot of them have ended up being a LOT more interesting and exciting for it :)

Also my Jazzmaster is finally back in service, so I get to divide up the band songs between my two guitars, Steven and Jonny (guess the namesakes? :P )

Finally have all my studio gear unpacked after a year of storage. Now to put it all back together again!!

I got this on eBay in an attempt to capture the OK Computer / Downward Spiral sound. Still haven't put the effort into using it properly. But it does sound awesome with a drum machine...

Pedalboard (ever changing, gotten a MXR micro amp since)
    Signal chain is...
    Crybaby - wah
Lovepedal BBB Fuzz - Usually use it as a fuzz, sometimes turn the blend knob the other way and treble boost the **** out of it
Tubescreamer 808 clone w/ keeley mods (custom built for me... yeah) - really nice sound, second footswitch is for symmetrical/asymmetrical clipping, ie slightly more gain
Pickle Vibe - Awesome vibey sound
Keeley modded blues drive - Everything from hendrix to johnny cash gets this bad boy
Metal Zone - since, replaced by a DS2, but still nice at lower gain settings
Ibanez delay - nice medium delay
Tremulus Lune - custom built tremolo, flashing rate LED, 7 knobs and a double time toggle switch
TU3 - tunes the **** out of my guitar
    Super chorus - Its super
Arion Stereo Delay - nice short delay
Boss GE7 - modded with an ultrabright blue LED, so i know when i'm being daycent, used as a solo boost

    sdc11043q.th.jpg

    And...
Thanks to my girlfriend for painting this, and a buddy for putting it together for me....

    I got new gear! :D

First up is the Paisley Telecaster Jap Reissue. Got it off adverts and I don't think it's ever really been played. It's mint. Absolutely delighted with it

    E22D1C1F69E145EC98632961D8089E31-0000341632-0002437951-00800L-0FBD9DC3F99D461597050195005134AA.jpg

    And the back in detail...

I also bought a '64 Duo-Sonic (previously a MusicMaster but it was given an extra pickup at some point) earlier this year

    682E84A917614509A2741C3258939731-0000341632-0002437945-00800L-8DCFFF7B1AEC43A8906BF8119463B59E.jpg

I'm still very much in love with my modded Squire Strat

    792C1093841A44EEA8BBDE3C04EFACBD-0000341632-0002437947-00800L-DB14E070439942B9956D629D096E5A1A.jpg

I put a set of Lace Sensor Hot Golds in it and a little switch that gives me 7 pickup positions (I can get all 3 and neck and bridge together)

    DA3EEC0355D7487CAF77EC8FAB0E6D92-0000341632-0002437948-00500L-0B9C1F04F9B248EDAE09613D458EC50C.jpg7286578B66CB4D6EA48774255E818A2C-0000341632-0002437946-00500L-B050124AF20E4229A47B4633141DA5DF.jpg

And my faithful Epi Les Paul deserves a mention. My first real electric guitar but still has the nicest feel of almost any guitar I've ever played and perfect when I'm in need of some humbuckers

    5C2B67A4EF0C408B91CDA07431BCC22C-0000341632-0002437944-00800L-9A97104532BA4F848648863BEA8B0662.jpg

I've also got a Jackson DK2 with EMGs which I need for the Floyd Rose, a '93 American Strat with Texas Specials - but that'll be gone in the next week or two - a cheap Rickenbacker copy (Challenger) an Aria bass, a Crafter acoustic and a Guvnor 12 string. But the ones pictured are the ones I make time to play :)

Still haven't got a new camera, too busy buying guitars!!

A new to me '77 Electra X410. This thing ROCKS. Possibly the nicest semi I've laid my hands on, I love it. Made in the Fugijen factory for a US firm, the attention to detail is crazy. Torty binding, even in the F-holes!! Love it. One of the sellers pics in there too to show off the top (hope ya don't mind Seany!)

here's my baby, made it from scratch, walnut and maple, dovetail joints and French polished. Hand wired point to point with as many new old stock parts as I could so it sounds vintage, and it does. Made as close to the way they were made in the 60's as I could. Custom faceplate, (that goes up to 11 for added cheese) Valve Art Kt66 power valves, tung sol 12ax7's, celestion alnico gold and g12h30 70th anniversary speakers. Its a Marshall bluesbreaker from another mother. :D

Fender American Standard Strat and a Blackstar HT-5 Tube Amp. First bit of gear I've bought in a good few years, nice to be buying again instead of selling. Picked up both on adverts.

Also have a Highway One Jazz Bass and Ashdown ABM combo. Probably posted them in this thread at some stage.

Basses are Musicman Stingray, Fender US Precision from 2003, Fender jazz 75 re-issue, japanese.

Amp is as follows.... Tech 21 3 channel sansamp splits to the two amps. First side is fed through BSS compressor, and then into the Eden (wt-300) Ampeg 4x10.
The other amp is a solid state ampeg 220W, which is just used for sub.

Gison Les Paul Artisan (1977) Ltd Edition 'custom'

'Squire' Strat (Heavily modded, only the neck from the squire left! - New Ash Body, Graphite nut, Locking Khaler trem, rewired & pickups replaced, Semour Duncan Trembucker at bridge - used as my working guitar for many years.

    398440363.jpg

The Artisan Les Paul (again), my first guitar(can't remember the make :o ) SG Copy, with 4 humbuckers added (selection of DeMarzio, Mighty Mite, Semour Duncan) dreadful action but super guitar for 'slide'
