AFL have said they can use NAB games as part of the suspension, so if they make the final, the 4 games will be served.

are for real? seriously, where are you coming from with that? no outcry? The Irish team and management whinged and whined over it for months, and the series was suspended. I cant say I remembered any incident where a player was punched while on his knees in the series, and then given a kick in the sack while he lay on the ground. I do remember Sean Marty Lockhart headbutting and breaking Ryan O Keefes nose tho.

People have this misguided impression that the bad incidents that happen in the Int Rules are a given in AFL. If the incidents such as Lockharts, or Crhis Jonsons in Melbourne the year before had happened in an AFL game, they'd have received extremely long suspensions. Dont start harping on about how this was overhyped because "I saw worse in Int Rules and thats what they do in Aussie Rules". Barry Hall punched a payer unconcious last season and was suspended for a third of the season. A punch which was lesser than o'hAilpins, and also he didnt kick him up the hole either.

a four match suspension is extremely light for o'hailpin, and he can consider himself lucky considering he may not miss any of the regular season. whther or not he is around to play for Carlton is another matter.

Anyone who watchs the AFl knows this...

Setanta is back training again and the clubs self imposed ban is over, so he'll just be sitting out the 4 games handed down by the AFL. so he wont miss too much if any game time in regular season. he'll be certainly under a lot of scrutiny anyway.

so he wont miss too much if any game time in regular season.

Setanta's suspension actually only starts once the regular season starts so the earliest we'll see him playing for the Blues is round 5 vs the Doggies at the end of April.

you sure? AFL reported otherwise after the suspension was given as I said above.

The AFL has ruled that O'hAilpin's penalty can be served during the NAB Cup meaning a berth in the grand final for the Blues would make the Irishman available for senior selection in round one of the home-and-away series.

Setanta has come on in leaps and bounds since this incident with Cloke a couple of seasons back. Cloke is now lingering int he reserves at Port Adelaide, whilst Setanta kicked 5 for Carlton on Sunday and was their main player up front. He had a great game, and is on course for a very good season. He has adapted very well, and I have to say, I'm very impressed with his progress since the training ground thing. Last year was a good year for him, hampered tho by injury. But with Fev gone now, Setanta is leading the charge for the blues and is doing it very well. Fair play to him.

Setanta now has the record for the most goals in a single game by an Irishman, beating Jim Stynes old record - been very impressed with him in the bits of game that I have seen!
