I used to love beef stew out of a tin, don't think it exists any more
and even if it did there isn't a hope I'd eat it!

My last memory of eating campbells meatballs was watching Banana man when I was about 7 and I got sick on the dog who was sitting at my feet! Needless to say he wasn't happy and walked/rolled it all over the living room & then started to lick it off the carpet. My ma hit the roof, good times!

Also Monster munch when they became walkers suckdiddlyucked and no matter what people say mighty munch were no replacement!

meatballs in a tin is dog food and I ate dog food too - smelt nice so tried one day as a kid.

Anyone remember the Bernard Mathews Mini Kievs? still nice but not as good as back in da day. dangerous things when hot with the sauce inside!

Mála is bag. Márla is plasticine.

Regardless of what it is called, I can't believe you ate that stuff.

Had some of the pancakes a few days ago as hangover food. There not what they used to be at all :(

As we get older our taste buds get weaker so things dont taste as flavoursome as when we were kids. Thats why older people pour a mountain of salt on every thing, and why you shouldnt give salt to kids as they already taste more flavour of their food than we do

The best part was he sh*t it out in star, crescent and perfect circle shapes.

    Yes, Findus Crispy Pancakes!

Seriously, what happened?!? They're now about half the size and have some rubbery compound on the inside.

Has nobody told Findus!!! They used to be so nice, now they're just muck....

If this waz 'Merica you'd have grounds to sue your mother, divorce your father from her, and get custody of the dog.

they were snacks ,I was brought up on stew and vegtables.

The panky bars were the worst though and the distant memories of the trift yohgurts that frequented the fridge at the time.

My Ma used to cook me liver as a kid, I can still taste the sh*t, yuck. Ok it was the mid 80s but I'd rather have eaten grass.

Those tins of beans with the sausages in. They're like pinky turds extruded from someone with a really narrow @rse.

Foie gras is initially delicious, until the rancid aftertaste of guilt kicks in. Damn guilt.

    P.S. It's mála

Oh, and potato waffles are still excellent with a pile of seriously mature cheddar loaded on top and stuck back under the grill for a couple of minutes.

    *wanders off into kitchen*

I had these about 6 months ago and they were still awesome (must buy more tomorrow). Most crisps from my youth taste nothing like they used to. Snaps, monster munch etc. all are a shadow of their former selfs.

I actually used to like liver. We'd have it with mash and ketchup. Now I wouldn't eat it even if I was starving. Eeeww. I recall having pancakes too- very sophisticated; not just a lump of meat- ooh. ;)
Waffles still nice though, will have to try the melted cheese. :)

PS- just looked up an English/Irish dictionary and it says plasticine is márla. I've always said mála though, so it must be a regional thing.

Few memories in this thread, my ma used to work till 6 so when i got home from school there was always a dirty big pot of cold stew or coddle with an army of flies drowning in it on the stove. Needless to say i used to always raid the press or freezer for any viable alternative.

Waffles, koka noodles, Crispy pancakes, mini-pizza's (with a slice of plastic cheese) , micro chips, veggie burgers, big al's 1/4 pounders, tins of corned beef (on their own), Denny's steak pies in the tin, dunnes ham and cheese pastry slices, microwaveable donor kebabs.... no wonder I only eat shoite now im older!

those pies in tin are still yum!

never tried waffles with cheese on them, hmmm, tonights dinner sorted :pac:

When I was a kid these rocked, they were scrumdiddlyumptious.

I have such a craving for these now.. Thanks OP!

Whatever happened to Mini Pizzas.... the ones you get now usually have the smallest amount of cheese i've ever seen on them!

When I was a kid, I loved piccalilli sandwiches, sometimes eating nothing but them for days. Had one recently and it was horrible.

That said, pot noodles are still as good. And they even do a king-sized version to compensate for the child-adult size differential.
