PRICE EXCLUDES VRT OF 3000 EURO
The car is therefore €8,250 not €5,250.

And stuff like "slight attention needed" or "needs minor work for NCT" Why not do the work, get it tested and get better price for it?

They should have left that rust bucket in Japan, or sent it to Russia where many JDM cars go.

all these guys should bring the car in,pay the vrt and then sell it for that price instead of wasting ppls time as if they wouldnt do the maths themselves

In fairness, it looks like a rare rust free example in excellent condition and if I had imported it from Japan (as a business transaction rather than as a toy), I would be pushing it towards UK buyers as well as Irish, stating the VRT amount seperately but clearly in the add is good enough. It's not as if someone will be sorting the list of Integrales by price before deciding which adds to look at.

Very poor attitude towards an icon of its generation. I expected better from someone who prizes a K10 Micra and FWD Escort, if you can see value in the mundane, can you not recognise how rare and special a good example of an Integrale is?

^ Never had any sort of love to any Italian cars. And I don't care if it's a "poor attitude", it's my opinion.

Sometimes I get the feeling 'comic book guy' roams this board.........

Comic Book Guy: Last night's 'Itchy and Scratchy Show' was, without a doubt, the worst episode ever. Rest assured, I was on the internet within minutes, registering my disgust throughout the world.Sounds familiar!:D

Calling a car that is probably one of the best surviving examples of it's type in the country a rust bucket for no reason other than you don't particularly have any interest in the marque or model hardly counts as an opinion, a sweeping generalisation would be a more appropriate description.

Based on what, looking at pictures? Because you sure as hell haven't ever driven one.

There's lots of cars I don't really care for but I can appreciate the efforts people go to when maintaining them and I'll stop and admire the condition even if I don't care for the model. I'd be proud to own any 1991 car in that kind of condition and somebody somewhere went to a lot of effort and most likely expense to keep it like that.

I'm failing to see either the "CLASSIC" or "BARGAIN" in most of these cars???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 510 ✭✭✭biggus

That's the whole reason we're not buying them...if they were real bargins we'd post them after purchase.

in fairness most are classic in there own right

Went to look at this today

    Full?id=1674089

    reduced from € 4000 to 2975

Straight enough and drove well enough engine/box/driveline/dampers and bushes good.

    BUT
Quarter panel repaired at some stage and slight bubbling
Very badly presented, interior very poor from the Galway rain and typical leaky Mercedes Glass rubbers. No garage at the house.

No offers by vendor to produce log book but said they had it
Evasive about how long they've owned it(wife said about year and a half he said about a year) but he had an XJS before !!!!!

172 k miles showing now, last service sticker for 168k but prob five years old
Not a screed of NCT or TAX
    Walnut delaminated and discoloured,some missing
Electric seat switches broken and missing some motors working
Sun roof switch dangling from the roof Roof worked really well in tilt slide and closing:cool:
    Seat belt holders broken(electric type)
    windows Lazy
    Carpets green with mold
    Cloth seats
Head cloth about to drop from dampness
    Boot manky smell
Car well and truly warmed up and aired for about two hours before i arrrived
    Tyres old and worn
    Wheels discoloured from acid
Bit of rust at edge of quarter window masked and sprayed with different colour paint from halfords
    Headlight wipers missing bonnet damaged
Photo must be from November last year when it was a good car
Wasn't tempted to even offer a Grand ...

But if you have and interior for an SEC and a nice set of Lorinser deep rim wheels and a full set of window rubbers and electric switches
off you go to galway for a bargain:cool:
