Well IMHO and FWIW I think grey hair can be v sexy. I knew a woman had them at 20 and it looked good. Plus it's an excuse to play around with hair colour and keep Davina Mccall in a job:). I dunno I find grey hair in women attractive. Certainly wouldn't make me think them older or not attractive anyway.

Please, I'm twenty and I have loads of them. Auld pa was prematurely grey and passed it on to us kids. My sister is the worst, 18 and has streaks of grey in her hair.

29! You've had so many grey free years! Spare a thought for those of us who spotted those first few greys at 15/16 years old......

i already dye my hair, but these feckers are breaking through

although im slightly cheered after reading the responses above - maybe im lucky to have gotten this far without the dreaded grey

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

Getting them since I was 17 - and they're not grey, they're snow-white. Plus, my hair grows like grass so they poke through about three weeks after a dye-job. Still though, they're building up really slowly. I'm addicted to dying my hair anyway so meh... Find a really good hairdresser though. I've been shopping around lately (as I've moved house) and they're always missing bits, using dyes that don't give strong enough coverage etc. Going back to my regular hairdresser and sticking with her.

For in between dye-jobs (because it's not good for you to get your hair dyed TOO often) you can get these touch-up things which are really easy to apply and do the trick for a week or two.

They may go away too. Happened to me. Got a mob of them at the sides when I was about 23, then they went away over a year or so and only came back in my late 30's. I blame an ex for that though.:D

yep, i've had them since ive been 16 - they are ever so gradually spreading for the past 15 years. I dont really mind them - suppose its becuase it hasnt been a sign of getting older for me. I find they are nearly twice the thickness of my normal hair ??

Have some popping out the side of my head too. Not too happy about it but I'm nearly 29 so I guess they have to come some time. I just think of it as an expression of my intelligence and makes me look more like George Clooney even if I look nothing like him.

First few grey hairs are what make you old ?
Ha if that is the case I was old when I was 12.
Age is just a number it's experience and maturity that counts.

Now I've naturally black hair, which is nice. I've been getting grey ones since I was sixteen, which isn't.

They're still, at 26, pretty occasional, and I occasionally bribe someone to stand behind me and yank the beggars out, but I know the day will come when the dye will be bought. Its really unfair that black hair shows them up in such stark relief.

I had a friend that went grey as a teenager and always had to dye her hair. So it can get worse than 29!
