They're my top three favourite bands.. in my eyes no one can beat them!

Rock/metal is such a broad spectrum, obscure to you might be the norm for others, doubt anyone is listing bands to appear cool..

I don't think i have seen one band on the lists i have never heard of. hardly Obscure. More like he hasn't a clue.

Ooohh someone is touchy...I am the one "showboating"..lol..very mature..what age are you?

I have heard of 90% of the bands here too..but I have noticed a trend in the posts..someone will list a relatively obscure band then the next post will not only list that same band but will try to go one further and list several relatively obscure bands and it continues like that..its only a light hearted observation..:rolleyes: perhaps the thread should be re named "My Favourite Top 10 Bands".

ps. I have just seen Post #73 make the same suggestion.

Well it's hardly going to be anything else is it? Don't know what way you are taking up this thread. But actually trying to put forward a "Top 10 EVAR" that ISN'T your favourite bands sounds like the most boring pointless task ever.

IMO- listing obscure bands that most people havent heard of in a list of the best of "All Time" reeks of one up manship on the next guy and..and I can see quiet clearly the bands are getting more obscure as it goes on...I find it amusing..sure they might be your favourite bands and fair play..

Its like a "Favourite Holiday Destination" thread..it soon develops into a competition to see who can list and who has been to the most exotic and far flung places with poster after poster trying to outdo the other..bit like that Monty Python sketch re The 4 Yorkshire Men....the same is happening here to an extent and is quiet common on forums...

You really need to get that briar out of your ass...:P

I listed MY top 10 favourite bands. What exactly is the point in trying to list a top 10 of all time regardless of what i like? Sounds boring and ultimately pointless. I dont disagree about the whole obscure thing it does happen a lot in this forum but has not happened in this thread.

i've been lucky enough to see most of the bands mentioned here (obscure funny named pretentious metal aside..if you're wearing make up/nail polish? you are not rock, you are cabaret)
and in my experience, like them or love them, pearl jam are the best live band out there. Nobody gives that much welly, every night, night after night, except maybe Springsteen or the frames..

all great bands..there is and never should be any 'better than' in music.
