    TV3 is independant of the UTV/HTV/ITV 1 stable.

    TV3 simply purchase programs from ITV1 and just happen to simulcast them here.

    TV3 was sold by ITV in 2006. They are currently owned by Doherty Hanson, an Equity Group.

    TV3 is licensed by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland, as Ireland's commercial free to air public service broadcaster.

    ITV is currently looking to sell ITV programming in a free market, rather then current constraints of the franchise. UTV have complained to OfCom suggesting that this is just aimed at increasing UTV's franchise fees and their opposition to the idea that sales of programming to TV3 are open to other broadcasters when they are not.

    TV3 currently has a deal with ITV until 2013.

    i saw an ad today that tv 3 have the countdown to the top 10 celebrity fitness videos, followed by the greatest comedy moments. I personally think that having the former program on at prime time is one of the greatest comedy moments on tv. If unintentionally so. Who watches this crap?
