News Flash:

Time to dust off your skirmish gear or maybe try out those new toys Santa left for you and get out and skirmish!
We are inviting all Airsofters across the country, regardless of whether you sit at home plinking, are a collector or are a regular skirmisher, to a nationwide skirmish involving Airsoft sites across Ireland new and established. Come and experience the best Airsoft sites the Country has to offer for FREE!

The Sites:

Predator Combat Games, Co Down

SG-1 Combat Games, Londonderry

The date: Monday the 29th of December.

So get out and try some of the sites and the best thing about all of this: it’ll cost you Nothing, Zip, Zelch, Nada to play*!!!!! (*BB’s, Pyros and rentals not included)

You could make a trip to Predator for the morning and hit Sim Com Sports for the afternoon or you could do Drogheda for the morning and Fingal for the afternoon and The Warehouse in the evening!! Make a trip to the largest site in Ireland and head down to G-Tac Galway, anyway you plan it... you get to go out and experience a great days skirmish courtesy of the Airsoft sites this Christmas!

This is by far the most important day in your Airsoft calendar!!

There will be a draw made from all names of those attending any of the sites for a full load out from head to toe, so one lucky git is going to be pimped to the nines!:cool:

We thought of that but decided that the concept is to get you guys to go to a site or sites that you don't normally go too, we will probably hold a raffle in each site for charity using any more donations from any more retailers who offer up another prize.

Next year we shall hold the event as a charity event;)

See the problem with that is... I wont be going to any sites I don't usually go to because as with any other time I just can't get to them. So on that front it doesn't work for me. I'll be spending the day at The Warehouse because it's the only one I can actually get to

well I'll be present at Dark mist2 which is the night before this kicks off, and the plan being i go to another site in the morning and then another site in the afternoon, then possibly finish off with warehouse dont know

To get a test for each site, drive car onto field, fire few rounds from window, drive off to next test :P

Well, as mod; mods dont read every thread, and no one contacted us directly to ask for a sticky. Also, this thread should (technically) be in the retailers and sites section, although I understand the reasoning for having it in the main forum, however, no one PM'd the mods to ask for permission to post this thread originally, which, as commercial interests, you are required to.


Personally: I tend to skip over the stickies in most Fora because they normally consist of things like Charter and newbie info, which I will obviously read on my first visit to a forum, but after that I tend to very rarely read those threads, so my personal opinion is that the thread will get just as much, if not more, exposure being left as a normal thread. If there is interest in it, it will be kept near the top by people posting in it (however that does not mean "bumping" the thread is allowed)

Move it to the Retailers Section if you think that is where it should be, but the concept of this whole event is to encourage everybody to Get Out and Skirmish! It baffles me that info about an event held outside (Berget) of Ireland that maybe 20 or 30 skirmishers will actually attend has been made a sticky, yet and event involving most of the country involving 7 skirmish sites that actually cost the player nothing to play is not deemed important enough to get a sticky.
Nobody is making any money of this, in fact it is costing us the sites and retailers time and money and me personally a lot of time and money getting this organised for the better of the community!

I've no doubt there is a lot of work that goes into organising something like this, and thank you for all the work you do, however you should know well, as a commercial user, you are required to PM the moderators before posting anything related to your business (with the exception of the retailers and sites sub-forum). While it may be costing you a days fees to run, it is gaining you free advertisement, which, going strictly by boards.ie's rules, is explicitly not allowed on this website.

I'm sorry, but I have to jump in here. I am none of the following:

• Retailer
• Site operator
• Affilate of Berget
• Staff of Berget
• Organiser of Berget
• No other vested commercial interest.

I have asked for large international event information-only threads (Berget-Events, TA-Events, Ground-Zero Weekender, etc.) to be stickied for players wishing to attend something that cannot currently be found inside this country; namely big-game Airsoft.

I have done so for no other reason than wanting to help other people get to said events by taking the time to provide details on logistical planning in order to attend such events. I've had a ball playing at several outside events and I'd like to help other people in this country experience such events as well as it can only grow the experience level of airsoft players in Ireland, and grow the sport in Ireland as larger and/or more complext events are organised.

I'll finish this with the following: Berget (since you've named this particular event) is THE largest airsoft event in the world airsoft calendar.
