Gardai end 2-hour armed standoff in South Dublin with man yielding legally held firearm, understood to have self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head (suicide attempt). Critically ill in hospital, died a day later. Media blackout lifted.

belongs to Garda Emergency Response Unit (ERU), contained two armed Garda marksmen/snipers in the back to fend off attack on motorcade

Notice the aqua green Isuzu Trooper during a Garda checkpoint on the M1 a few weeks back. Unmarked and belonged to two armed Detectives, anyone know which unit? Didn't realise the Gardai still used Isuzu Troopers...
