Is it just me, or is that Traffic Corps car silver?

I was in Leeds/Hull over the weekend, and tried to get a few Police car photos. I've a few, so I've resized them smaller than usual, so people won't be scrolling for weeks. This does affect the image quality a fair bit, but I doubt anyone'll care.

Wanted to get a few photos of the silver BMW car that UK Police stations always seem to have. One drove past me in Hull, but I didn't have my camera. When I did have my camera, the BMW was nowhere to be seen. Was only out and about with the camera for an hour or so.

Couple of years old this one, it was taken with a mobile camera so is a bit blurry.

It had responded to a call out to a fire alarm at an M1 service station in England. Turned out to be a false alarm.

Yes, I have loads of pics of ES vehicles. Taking a while to look for them among the thousands of photos I have.

This one is vehicles belonging to volunteer Emergency Services in NI.

I believe that's RTE's Garda car? Looks strange (but good) with no lightbar!

To be fair, I believe, and I could be completely wrong, of course, but I am under the impression that as far as river rescue groups go in Drogheda, they're the best and most active.

Just came across this on my PC that I took last year. Don't remember taking it at all :o

I've heard the same, that they are fairly active alright, but as many Coast Guard members will tell you in here, they're frowned upon. They do their own thing, take the calls from the declared unit (not that this is a big thing but at least notify the declared units). They have turned up on other units turf without notifying Gardaí or Coast Guard - most recent example was when they came along to Dublin (Howth I think) - without notification and joined in a search.

I've no doubt in my mind that they've good intentions, just that I don't think they go about things the proper way. Anyway, as a Coast Guard member, we're often not too comfortable with undeclared units as we feel a sense of babysitting going on - not nice but just human nature.

After my ramble I better add a picture - this was taken in Tralee a few years back where a storm blew parts off this old petrol stations' canopy
