So, the usual after 10pm hunger has kicked in. Dont know what to make myself. In the infinite mindfield that is AH, what do people normally have to eat at night? Any mad combinations you find help with hunger? Anything you eat every night?

My Da is eating My Ma already, so shes taken care of. :pac:

Kill your neighbours and cook them.

Alternatively some swan burgers from your local Polish friend.

A bowl of cereal or some crisps if I feel like giving myself heartburn before I go to sleep.

Bit of chedder on cream crackers. Bang it in the microwave for a second and sprinkle some oregano on it. Magic! ;)

Swan is meant to taste godawful according to Stephen Fry. I don't usually eat my dinner til after 10 anyway... So I'm gonna go stick some of yesterday's ginger chicken and stir fry veg and rice in the microwave.

What in the shit is flora butter?
Nothing. That's what. Cos it doesnt exist. I will not have pro-flora propaganda on this forum. Not while I live and breathe. You can pry the butter dish out of my cold dead hands.
I am so pissed off right now my left arm is tingling.

Just so you all know, there's a long thread in The Nocturnal Forum dedicated to late night snacks here

(The title of the thread was changed, I've no idea what the "ginger" bit is about. I suspect either Nerin or orestes is responsible...)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,859 ✭✭✭✭Sharpshooter

Cheese on toast is good ( and fast ) or if I have the munchies it would be Fried Bread with a hole cut out of the center and an egg ( yolk only ) dropped in the hole when you have turned the fried bread over to cook the other side.
/ though I mentioned hole twice it is not that kind of post.:o

Yup, it often gives me cravings! :) (for food that is, not company!) NYOM, NYOM!

I just read back over it there and saw the "Crisps Nazi" conversation between myself, Aisling(",) and thusspakeblixa. In hindsight, that was a bit strange. :D

that fried banana on peanut butter toast thing was kinda nice. However, in my hungry haste, i decided that I should wack the grill upto full power to speed up the process. Within 2 mins, my toast things went from being pretty solid to a burning pile of goo. Nonetheless, was tasty! :D

An odd time the oh and me would scoot up to Abrakebabra for a taco chip, I always fantasize about them last thing at night. They are a rare treat though..sadly. Usually I have a bowl of Rice Krispies but they usually don't even take the edge of the hunger:(. I'm just after having a packet of Walkers baked ready salted and a couple of triangles of Laughing Cow light cheese, t'was nice. Sometimes I just have some melba toast...specially nice if I've Connacht Gold spread in the house.....mmmm!

I'd love if I could eat all I wanted to. I'm always denying my poor body's needs, cravings and urges for vanity.. oh and health reasons. It's such a total b*stard, I love food so much. If I could eat all day I'd be deliriously happy.:o A big feed of curry chips with crunchy onions would go down very well right now, just imagine it.:(

I have recently rediscovered Nutella and its a savage late night snack on crackers or ryvita...

Though if you have Ma Raeburns pancakes, lash one in the microwave and put nutella on it...its kindof like sex without all the sweat and carpet burns.
