LL Weekend Meet Up 21st/22nd Nov

Have checked with a mod that this is ok!

Usually there are smaller meet ups on Thursday night, and at the request of a few posters we are going to try for something bigger the weekend after next.

There have been a few suggestions,

Woolshed, Capitol Bar, Porterhouse, D2

Please feel free to add, and choose which day suits you best.

What is the likelihood of this shindig ending up in Coppers or some other establishment with cheesy dancing opportunities?

I will never ever enter that establishment, I mean all I have heard is that it's the place you go to if you are looking for a one night stand and it's always jammers.

I'm also going to add for any newbies, if you want me to meet you beforehand I can, it takes the nerves out of it and I don't bite. I'm sure some of the other girls will do it too, I'm looking at you Cmol, Lola , Jemmy and Girl_Friday.

Coppers is indeed a dive, but I am in full agreement about the cheesy dancing opportunities. Bring them on.

Aye, everyone has to experience coppers at least once, even if it's just so you can say with experience what a dive the place is

I'm ashamed to say that i've been there twice. Once at the tender age of 18 (some older men from donegal took me ) and then again about a year ago. Actually had a bit of a laugh the second time, maybe the place is growing on me (a lot can grow on you in that place though, most of it bad )

Have provisional plans with a RL friend who is feeling neglected!! If they don't go ahead the Saturday suits me best as work is unpredictable on a Friday!!*

For new people who may be a bit shy about walking into their first beers alone, it's usually possible to arrange to have someone meet you outside. I'm sure some of the ladies will be offering their services later in the week.

Don't worry your only here a little while, and we do use slang probably more than other nation on the planet.
It will come to you.

The thing about english is that if your sort of there, it is easy for people to get your meaning. Most people will adapt to be able to understand an accent.
I'm deaf anyway! I never understand anyone! Nodding and smiling to imply that I am generally harmless gets me by.

I love english and I m more or less able to understand but I don't dare speak with people I don't know, I don't want them to make fun of me you know. I'd enjoy come with u this wee end you to see the city at night
